OOC: I'm dropping the umlaut above the "e". I was tired of that zomgabsolutelyneeded é in Peté, I'm not going to the umlaut.

Maria Schnaud, and her husband, Joseph, looked at the poster. Joseph knew how to read, but Maria didn't. Joseph read it to her and she lit up.
"500 marks? Is that cheap?"
"Very cheap. We're paying less per year for our insula. If we left, we could buy some land on the coast, maybe build us a house on the beach...maybe even teach you to read!"
"I'd like that, Joseph. Let's go."
"We can't just go, honey. We'd need to sell our things in the insula, save for some clothes, to pay the contractors. Or maybe I could get Franklin to help me; he's a carpenter, I'm a plumber. Besides, he said he was moving out there anyway. I'll think about it, honey."
"Final boarding call for Flight 872 to Leitzembourg, Leitzembourg. 5 minutes to departure."
"Look at you, Annake. You and your little girl steps, arms flailing. If you want to make a plane, you've gotta run like a MAN!"
A minute or so later, Wilbert Loes arrived at the counter next to the bridge to the plane. Annake arrived a couple of seconds later.
"I would laugh if I wasn't out of breath as it is."
"Come on, it wasn't that far." Wilbert put the two tickets on the counter where the steward was standing and entered the bridge to the plane. Unlike the lower-class Schnauds, Wilbert Loes was a banker, and his girlfriend Annake Sabien a cook at a swanky restaurant. They could both read, which was a rare feat in Myroria. They planned to sign the papers for a fairly expensive house in the north of Leitzembourg, and Annake would return to working at the branch of her restaurant there while Wilbert would go back to banking. It wasn't all that much of a change for them, but the beautiful lands to the east presented an interesting, thrilling experience. And apparently people were willing to fork over 500 KRM an acre to get that thrill.
