Title: Hail! Thy Emperor Reigns!

Early August, the month most associated to Christstanies with Law, Order and Empire, Emperor Hendrick addressed the people from his palace in the Imperial city overlooking Victory Square. In a majestic, fatherly tone, the aging Heindrick announced publicly his resignation. His voice was almost poetic and filled with a genuine sorrow. The message was on every radio station, every channel and all the people of Chirststan watched Heindrick's final address as Emperor.

August 3rd, 1130
Hendrick's Address to the Empire

My beloved nation, whom I love from the rich soil, to the beautiful mountains, from the vast ocean to the flat plains, I have lived to see you prosper. Prosper to new heights and dreams, grow ripe with wealth. The fruits of our labors of love are clear, we have sown the seeds of greatness and we have greatly reaped the rewards. It is with a heavy heart, and dying breath that I must announce to you my full resignation from my imperial duties and offices. Alas, my term as First Citizen of the State are finished and I shall retire to the majestic countryside which God has blessed us with. Fear not, mourn not, for God has blessed us with a most suitable heir.

Frederick has graciously accepted his birth-right and has sworn before the honor of God that he shall govern selflessly, effectively, and honorably. Celebrate, for the glory of the empire shall be intact.

May he bless our beloved land,
Honor and Glory to be at hand!

Two days after his father’s resignation, Frederick addressed the country. His words were filled with a fire and charisma reminiscent of Heindrick’s early days. The people’s cheers lasted for hours as Frederick finished and walked through the crowd, kissed babies and shook hands in his regal imperial uniform, wearing his father’s crown. The cult of Personality behind Frederick extended from his immediate circle, to the entire nation.

August 5th 1130
Frederick's Address to the Empire
 

In the game of thrones, their is only live or die, no middle ground.; and my friends... We shall live! We shall be a beacon of light and order to the rest of the world! At the mention of Christstan, our neighbors shall nod their head with the utmost respect, remembering the might of our people. My friends, we are one people, one goal, one drive and one purpose, none shall deter us on our path to glory...

I declare that all citizens of Christstan shall reap the rewards of our continued glory. It will be my sole goal to provide and do all I can for the well being of the people of this empire. As God looks down on his Earth, stained by sin and corruption, he shall smile on us! For we are genuine, we are true, we are the defenders of the one true faith and will continue to uphold the tenants he has provided for us for only they are the path to proper rule.

Behold our future AND REJOICE! GOD HAS BLESSED US AND SET BEFORE ME THE PATH TO GLORY! Let none stand in our way! My friends, we have all to gain, we must act together to reach our full potential, join me on this path to glory…

I wish to congratulate you, Uncle Frederick and Auntie Jordan. It saddens me that Papa isn't here to this, he would be proud of both of you. I will be coming to the coronation and I would like to just talk with you after. Being a young head of state is stressful. Mother says in two years she will hand over power to me. I am scared, I fear I will not be as great as Father or George the Great. Well, we can discuss this when I arrive in Christstan. Tell the children that I will be coming soon. Also tell Papa Hiendrick and Grandma Anna that I will bring them some gifts as well. I haven't been anywhere since the war started.

August 10th,
630 Years since the founding of the empire, to date.

Emperor Frederick and his Empress Jordan were crowned by his father, a symbol of the hereditary monarchy, his scepter was presented to him by the church, a symbol of his Divine Right & Duty to God, and his sword was presented to him by the people, a symbol of his duty to protect them. All was done with pomp and grandeur. Frederick had invested a great deal of his imperial funds to this occasion to make for one few could forget.

The streets were lined with gold trim and fireworks were shot off as Frederick passed through the Imperial City. Trumpeters walking before the Imperial Carriage heralded the Emperor's coming. The Emperor, his wife, their children and the Empress Alia were inside the large golden vehicle.

Frederick proclaimed August 10th as Coronation Day and a National Holiday, a day when all would reflect on the glory of the empire. As gifts, he donated One Billion Dollars of personal funds to the People, some went into education, he built hospitals, churches, theaters, etc. The people flooded the streets in support of this new emperor. Some speculated he may be even better than his father, but these thoughts were never spoken.

Frederick official gave the his father the honorific of "The Great". In all text books teaching the history of the empire, he shall be referred to as Emperor Heindrick The Great.

Frederick had his plans for the nation, and this was the first step in his grand plan. He had to unite the people even more, make them as one.

Alia looked at the people welcome their new emperor. If only my people could greet me like that. Two wars is going to make the people happy, but at what cost? her cousin Jordan sat on her lap as they made their way down the streets of the Imperial City. Alia was staring at her uncle and aunt as they waved to their people. her three cousins were smiling and laughing at a joke that Heindrick said. Alia pulled out three things from her purse. "Jordan, look at this." She handed her favorite cousin a necklace with the Imperial Star on it. "This is the necklace that our grandmother, Julianne Artorion wore when she took the throne as Regent." Jordan smiled at Alia as she put in on. Then she pulled out a gold ring with the caribou ectched on it. The ring of the Royal Cree House. "This has belonged to our family for over two hundred years, take care of it, Heindrick." She put it on the Crown Prince's finger. Then little Charles looked at her. "I didn't forget you, Charlie." She pulled out a blue blanket with seven names and symbols on it. "This is a blanket that belonged to all six of the Canadian Emperors. You see here, your name is now among them." Charles took it and hugged it. Then the Empress of Canada turned to her uncle. "There was one more reason why I came. I came here to ask you if you can send an army to reinforce my army that is preparing for a counter-attack against the Dysaniians. We are launching a blitzkrieg and we could use the experience of the Panzer Corps. We will repay you by giving you some of our new Tiger heavy tanks."

Frederick waved to the crowd and smiled, but he spoke softly to the Empress, "my forces have been prepared for this challenge, I am prepared to launch a full scale counter attack on your behalf." He had already activated several military units for his own purposes, and now he could deploy them again to Canada. "My men shall not withdraw from the field until total victory is achieved... though today, let us think of brighter things."

Frederick smiled again, the children were examining their gifts. Jordan was particularly enamored by her necklace. The roar of the crowd as the carriage passed made most speaking difficult but Frederick could be heard.

The procession took the group from the Parliament building back to Versailles. Back at Versailles, Frederick looks to  Alia and says, "We shall discuss this further in the morning" with that, he went up the grand staircase to his apartment with his wife...

Alia watched as her uncle walked upstairs. She wasn't sleepy, too many things on her mind. She walked out to the gardens to just sit in peace. The gardens gave off a tranquil feeling of peace and safety. She liked that. The night sky was bright as stars were evident everywhere. She liked it here. Alia walked over to the fountain and sat down. She watched the water trickle down and soon she began to feel sleepy. The thoughts of the war, her rule, and her father's death slowly disappeared and ended with a blank nothing. She got up and made her way back to the palace and walked up to her room. There she collapsed on her bed and drifted into a peaceful sleep....

In the morning, Emperor Frederick called the generals he trusted the most, by skill and loyalty, these would be the Council of Five. The Best of the best Christstan had to offer assembled in the parlor of Versailles, they had arrived at five in the morning to comply with the meeting time of seven. The Lord High Marshal, the new head of Christstan's military was appointed. The former inspector had retired, along with several army officers with the retirement of Heindrick. There was one man from each branch, along with the new branch the Emperor would form - The Imperial Guard, then any one officer the Emperor wished.

The Council had been assembled and they were ready, The Emperor sent for Alia. They would review what she had to say and make final plans.

*Note the non German uniforms are Hyper-Formal attire reserved for nobility or high ranking officers. The Imperial Guard however will be comprised entirely of these types of uniforms due to the Emperor's love for elegance.

Alia walked into the parlor in an blue-grey Canadian uniform, complete with her father's ceremonial sword. She pulled out a map of Greater Canada. She unrolled it and began to tell the generals the situation. She pointed to the cities of Hamilton and Knigston. "Here, these two cities have fallen and now the army is trying to bleed the Dysaniians while slowly retreating. From the reports that I have recieved, the Dysaniian army has pushed us halfway to Ottawa and Montreal. Lord Protector ROmmel is preparing a spring offensive that may turn the tide sof this war, but he is low on manpower. We have held the Dysaniians until now, if they gain Ottawa and Montreal, then they can swing north and take Halifax and move on to Winnipeg. Rommel  intends to attack in spring before the Dysaniians make it to Ottawa or Montreal. Also, Field Marshal Worthington wanted me to show you this." It was a picture of the Tiger I heavy tank. "He believes this weapon will make killing Dysaniian tanks easier. This tank fires a special round that can lock on an enemy tank with a dual laser sensor, before the Tiger can even see the tank. Feneixia has declared war and is planning to send an army. We are currently awaiting them. Also, the Valideen, Delfians and the Varkourians are launching a beach attack into Dysaniian territory far on their north coast." The generals were surprised that an eighteen-year-old girl knew exactly what she was talking about when it came to this subject. War changes people.

When Alia walked into the room in full military regalia the older men in the room like General Mannstein and Commander von Braun were silently outraged, there were no female soldiers in all of Christstan and now this woman entered bearing her father's sword wearing a uniform of striking resemblance to their own. They however, said nothing, she was the Emperor's relative and he would protect his family always. There was one man in the room however that was enamored by her beauty and her boldness to wear such a uniform. It was the young Captain Lennstein, Duke of Mavoria. He was in his mid twenties but his amazing knowledge of military history and strategies made the Emperor pick him right out of the academy for his personal Imperial Guard. He acted as their encyclopedia for references to past battles and strategies, other than that he largely remained quite unless quoting precedence. He left the experienced ones do the decision making. She thrilled him and he looked at her in admiration as she came in and recited the proper military breakdown of the situation. The other men were baffled, she was not coming off very lady like to them at all.

Johann broke the ice of the few seconds of silence by speaking first, "M'lady, presumably Ottawa is your highest priority to defend correct? If we were to land enough troops in Montreal then the Dysanii forces would have to move in to reinforce their lines. Meanwhile, we send most of the Panzer Korps to Ottawa and begin a counter attack their to their weakened flank."

This was where General von Papen, Commander of the Army stepped in "Never, you of all people Captain should know the consequences of dividing your forces. We cannot afford to send a substantial force to Montreal and enough troops to break through Ottawa. Perhaps if we feint and attack on Montreal using light advance force, then we send the counter attack on their lines."

Now everyone wished to speak and it was the Lord High Marshal who spoke next, "all this talk of Panzer's and infantry, remember we must have air superiority. Our initial phase will be deployment, make the Dysanii's feel as though we are only bolstering defenses. Then we send out small squads of AA armor and position them across from Montreal, then we send out a few groups of fighters who will draw the enemies aircraft, if we deem their attack sufficient, directly into the range of the AAs. Once we have crippled them their, we refuel and counter attack destroying their key installments out side of Montreal. For I believe we are in consensus that the Capital  cannot be threatened in such a manner. Then, while our fighters and bombers wage a war over the skies, picket units will harass and goad the enemy, make them feel that these are the initial stages of a counter attack. Once a sufficient force has been drawn to Montreal and are engaging their, the Panzer Korps and the Imperial Guard, should the emperor allow it, will smash into Kingston. This attack however must be timed with the other reinforcements. The Dysaniis could not take a five front war. likely they will retreat back into their territory and consolidate defenses their. At which time, measures may be taken for final victory... Your thoughts my lord?"

He turned to the silent Emperor who was assessing the situation. "Well, we may have some of the details but only the Empress could know the exact details. I favor you plan but let us hear what she has to say since it is her country and she IS the current military representative here for her people... Thoughts Alia?"

Alia had noticed the Duke's fasinaction in her. She had to admit he was handsome, and if it wasn't for the current circumstances, then she may would return the attraction. Maybe later. "I like this idea. But when we take Kingston, we will have to split the force so we can retake Toronto and southern Ontario. How will we defend ourselves from the northern Dysaniian army? That is a clear problem. I suggest that we have the Feneixians and the Canadian army up in Montreal counter-attack when we take Kingston. Then when the northern army is engaging that force, we swing north and continue to blitz the Dysaniians. The Dysaniians have shown themselves to have no respect for the Canadians fighting against them, so I know they will underestimate us. We will come up behind them and we bomb them and lay down artillery fire. The tanks, mechanized infantry and ground attack aircraft can then move in quickly and either destory the army or force it to surrender. We keep a force behind at Kingston, to defend it from the smaller Dysaniian forces scattered across occupied territory. With this larger Dysaniian force destroyed, then the smaller Dysaniian forces can fall easily quickly to our blitzkrieg. The soldiers behind the Dysaniian lines are mostly conscrpits with hardly if any, militay experience."

Again the Emperor spoke, this time giving his own advice "Since the northern assault will be only diversionary, they will be locked into heavy combat. Once the southern force breaks through to Kingston, we will garrision your Canadian forces there. I believe they will be more enthused about protecting this city than our troops. Our men will be stricken with bloodlust, the key to our blitzkrieg. Then our Christstany troops will swing north and attack the Dysaniis from their rear, effectively trapping them in Montreal. At this moment, our combined navies will sail up the coast and begin bombardment on the encircled conscripts. Soon, they will either lose heart or run out of supplies and surrender or trickle away in retreat. Then we follow on that momentum and begin the push south once more. If timed with our allies assaults, then they should pull back from your territory to defend their own. Once we have recaptured Canada proper, we move into Dysanii territory and demand a peace treaty. If we see our victory to be imminent, we force a full surrender and possible disarmament."

The Emperor looked to the Empress, they had thought along the same lines in this last exchange, but the Emperor had carried it farther. He also knew that when those men became bottled up in Montreal, that his men would not be merciful.

Alia looked at her uncle. She liked the idea, but the idea of bottling up the Dysaniians in Montreal was crazy talk to her. "I don't want the Dysaniians to set foot in Montreal. We have fought city battles before. A proper blitzkrieg will not succeed as much if the enemy enters a city and I don't wish to see another Canadian city destroyed. I want to catch the Dysaniians outside of Montreal. I will not accept anything less then an unconditional surrender of the Dysaniian forces and the illegitimate government that rules them. The Allied forces currently have...plans for the Dysaniians that doesn't just include disarmament. But I like this plan, I say let this be carried out."

The Emperor nodded and rose, he was followed by all his officers. There was an attendant standing at the door who saluted to the Emperor as he passed. Looking to the man he said "Contact Division Commanders I - X, Wing Commanders 2, 6, and 7-10. I would also like our navy fully prepared for combat. IS that understood Admiral Hanz?"

The admiral bowed and gave a quick "Yes your majesty".

As all filed outside of the room, the Emperor held Alia's shoulder to stop her from leaving. "niece, I would like you to contact all allied forces. Ask them to send a representative here to Versailles to discuss our final plan. All parties must be fully aware of what we intend on doing and be in agreement."

Christstan was put on Level 4 Alert, the possibility of something bad happening. Troops were alarmed but as far as most people went, they knew nothing of the Emperor's intentions. He could only announce the landing of their troops after the attacks had already begun.

"I will send out those telegrams immediately. I will represent my own nation at this conference." He nodded and followed her out. "Oh, and by the way, Uncle. Thank you." She hugged him and then walked away. She noticed Captain Lennstien watching her as she walked away. She decided to play with him, so she began to work her hips. She turned and smiled back at him. He blushed and walked off. Alia laughed. He would make a fine Emperor if her uncle and mother allowed it.
