A Wedding Fit For an Emperor and an Empress
« on: December 08, 2007, 07:42:40 PM »
The zeppelin was making it's way to the Christstani coast. Alia was sitting in her personal room in the zeppelin called the Federation. Her zeppelin was more of a passenger plane. It were taking the Empress of Canada to go get married. Alia was going to be turning twenty tommorow and she was about to be married to a captain and a duke of Christstan. She had met Johann Lennstein when she had come to ask her uncle for an army to help the Canadian Army. Alia had since then had visited Christstan many more times to visit the Duke. Now they were to be wed, after he asked her uncle, Emperor Frederick. So Alia was coming by zeppelin to show the Chirstani, Canada's new toys but also to prove that they are a safer mode of transportation.  They were nearing the Imperial City and Alia ordered that one of the cargo hangers be lowered so she could see the city. So she stood with her guard of blue-uniformed Canadian soldiers and amber-uniformed Acadian soldiers dressed in their battle armor. The captain of the Federation came to Alia.

"Your Majesty, we are nearing a landing zone, you want to come inside so we can land properly?"

"Yes, captain. Thank you for your expert piloting."

The captain bowed and the cargo hold was lifted back into the zeppelin and the her zeppelin began to land. Alia smiled and fixed her dress and straighten her favorite hat. I hope Uncle Frederick likes the zeppelin, and I hope Johann likes how his new bride looks

Chirststan has been in a state of emergency with the likelihood of foulplay within her borders - contacted the zepplin as it approached. Once contact had been established the ground controller replayed the information he received from the Emperor, "This is ground control to Federation, repeat Ground control to Federation. Request to land has been denied. All aircraft has been grounded and our airways closed. The Emperor has requested for your own safety to return to Canada, he and Duke Lennstein shall meet you there. Military refueling aircraft has taken off to dock with you and refuel you for the trip home."

(As I am unsure of how blimps refuel, I will just say that they did it some how.  ;D.)

The Immanuel Beof, the air traffic controller contacted the Emperor about the arrival of the Canadian blimp. He responded by saying he could not attend the wedding due to his being needed in Christstan, but he will send the family as they will be safer there. This being relaid to the Canadian blimp.

Alia heard the com from Frederick and the ground controller. "Damn, a whole three days wasted. Oh well. Captain, tell ground control that we will return to Canada and will prepare for the arrival for the Imperial Family." The message was sent back to the ground controller and the zeppelin turned around and made it's way back to Canada. Alia went back to her room and called her mother to prepare the country to protect the Imperial Family when they arrive in Ottawa. She looked at a map of the world after she made the call. "What is this world coming to? PI seems to be falling apart because of assassinations and kidnappings. Oh, well. It will good to be back home."

Radar operators suddenly started to address the bridge of the Flagship Iupiter, coming from far away, the 2nd fleet of Exsangua was sent under the direct orders of Imperator Haterius Glacio to explore and scour the lands for the Imperial cause, Admiral Flavius Agricola had been wondering what was wrong with the radar. From the islands they already landed at there was nothing to be found, on the map he marked these places with Nihilum, however now came on the intercom, "Sir, there's a disturbance on the radar screen, you should check it out." The admiral affixed his uniform and got up to the bridge of the Aircraft Carrier. There the radar operator showed him the screen which should the large object coming from the east and moving unnaturally.

He was worried and yet almost excited, perhaps he found civilization but this object was such a large one. When he went outside he discovered many on deck were already pointing in the sky at something, then out of the mist of the clouds was a large Airship that floated across, he grabbed a phone and contacted the radio room to make contact with the vessel.

At the cockpit, piloteer Daniel Jackerson was running down weather info and map charts on his computer, charting up a safe route for the Federation. His captains had pressed him for a fast route home, but so far, Mother Nature wasn't cooperating. A strong storm system was moving across the ocean from the northeast, and satellites had plotted the winds at 28 knots and rising.

"Navigator, notify Captain Quarters, we won't be making the trip home. The Lady will have to spend the night here."

Captain Quarters listened to the navigator as he explained that the ship will have to find a new route home. When he was finished the Quarters talked. "Alright, send someone to tell the Empress that we will have to take a detour. Then after you send someone, I need you to plot a new course south to Validus. We will need to get there as fast as we can." The navigator nodded and left to send someone to tell the Empress while he thought of a new way home. Captain Quarters walked through the walkways next to the giant helium balls that held the helium that kept the airship in the air. He walked into the bridge. Unlike the older zeppelin bridges that looked the front of a plane, the bridge of the Federation resembled that of a warship. "Pilot, we are to head south to Validus as quickly as possible. The navigator will give you the route." He turned to one of the engineers. "Put more power to the propellers, I want to get there as quickly as possible."

ooc: CAPTAIN QUARTERS? LMAO. When I said quarters, I meant to place where the captains sleep...but okay, Captain Quarters it is  :D.

"Yes, Captain. We'll plot a course with the northeast gale behind us, should speed us up nicely," Daniels replied through the cockpits intercom. After giving a salute to the Captain on the video console, he switched the intercom to the ballast department of the Federation.

"Ballast Room, we're ready to take off. Dispel the air tanks."

Before he steered the Federation towards Validus, he did a last minute check on the fly-by-wire and "smart" helium control. This airship, was far more advanced than the old Hindenburgs he study in flight school. The manifold and surface of the airship was able to adjust it's shape through a series of powered cables linked with a sophisticated on board computer. Depending on the load weight and weather conditions collected via sensors install around the Federation, speed and lifting power could be optimized to a precise degree. It was safe to say, no other vehicle of this type came close to the technological grandeur of the Federation and her sisters ships.

"Pilot Daniel Jackerson to Ship Log, turning portside to 276 degrees, heading for Validus airspace. Strong breeze from the northeast expected, will keep track of storm anomaly LD291. Smooth flight for the most part...Kiar, notify the rest of the ship."

This is your Co-pilot speaking. We are currently heading towards the coast of Validus at a speed of 38 knots, expected to reach 45 knots once we are over the ocean. We currently have a storm system northeast of us moving towards us, but I'm sure the Federation will be able to outrun it and get to Validus by morning. Stay tune later on, the Federation will be making a drop in altitude over the Consena Strait, where we might catch a few White Eye whales making their migration journey to the mating grounds in Glomin. Relax and enjoy the view...

minding this kind of construction, probably as tight as a submarine, the Captain Quarters are normally right in front of the communication room, only separated by a curtain or something like that.

Alia could feel the zeppelin turn and speed up. Well, as long as we arrive safely in Ottawa. The zeppelin went first to Validus and refueled. The storm had luckily had changed course, just as the Federation made it to the Valideen capital. Once she was fueled, the airship took off finally for the Canadian capital where the Christstan Imperial Family should be arriving soon. The ocean spread out and after another day of flying, the zeppelin had passed over the Inglish Island and finally came to the coast of Canada. The zeppelin had enough fuel to make it to Ottawa, so it quickly made it's way there. It took a few more hours, but Alia's airship arrived safely. They landed at the special hanger in the airport. A regiment of Imperial Guards had been waiting for her. They escorted her to her limo. Alia was driven back to the palace where she waited the arrival of her family.
