Somebody give that panda a cookie!  Um, do pandas even eat cookies?  I suppose, maybe if there's bamboo baked in them... There we go, bamboo chunk cookies!

Don't worry, we know how you feel. It's the magic of Taijitu.

Yes, Taijitu infiltrates your mind, and soon you are lost, wandering the forum, counting to 10,000 in base ten, binary, backwards, and through pictures, all day... But don't worry, it's a pleasant enough spell to fall under, so long as you never wake up.

I believe so, my furry friend.  Things like this, if left too long, can cause problems later in life.  Such as Sudden Onset Twitchiness, or Creeping Paranoia.  It can even lead to a Fear of Marshmallows.  I've seen it happen, and it isn't pretty.

Again we are smart. We get pitied and people think that we are so cute. So we get on the a shit load of news shows. Steve Erwin and pandas are the only reason that Animal Planet didn't die after its first quarter.
Title: Re: You May Find This Interesting
Post by: Khablan on May 14, 2007, 04:06:41 AM
Do you actually think the whole cute and cuddly thing is by accident, a simple result of evolution?  Not so, my friend.  The wise panda knows that the cuter the species, the most popular, and therefore they stand the best chance of avoiding extinction.  Momma pandas train their young nearly from birth to maximize their cuteness and playfulness for that very reason.  Pandas, dumb?  I think not.  They just let us think that.

I suspect that our dear Soly suffers from a severe fear of cuteness.  But this too can be cured, with time and patience.  He must be strapped into a chair (to prevent harming himself, of course), and a television placed before him, through which he will be subjected to a long series of video tapes, which would include such media rife with cuddly puppies and kittens, Teletubbies, and assorted giggling, blissful children.  His nourishment should consist of such cheerful dishes as Micky-Mouse-shaped pancakes, Happy Meals complete with toys, clown sundaes, and smiley-face cookies.  Mental health aides assigned to his care will be equipped with state of the art ear plugs, to prevent ear damage resulting from the onslaught of cursing and screaming that is common from such sufferers in the early stages of treatment.  This must be repeated daily until such time as he is cured.  Fear not, Soly.  We are determined to help you.

Three words, dearest Khabby: Beaver and Steve.

Best show Nickelodeon ever played.

clown sundaes

Oh my god, clown sundaes = YES.  Is it cannibalism for a clown to eat one, though?  If so, I'd have to give them up on weekends.
Title: Re: You May Find This Interesting

LMAO!!!  I had to google that - we're cable-challenged out here.  Touche, Soly.

Quote

Hmm... well, it wouldn't really be cannabalism... more symbolic, you know, since it's made of ice cream... but then, being symbolic perhaps it would result in a subconscious urge to cannibalize... in which case, perhaps marshmallow peeps would be a better substitute for clown patients.  After all, if a percentage of clowns turned cannibal, we'd then have a new difficulty - a shortage of clowns.  We simply can't have that.  Who would ride in those tiny little cars then?  So that's alright, Allama.  We could give you marshmallow peeps on the weekends.

Beaver and Steve... Nickelodeon? What?
Title: Re: You May Find This Interesting
Post by: Khablan on May 14, 2007, 01:47:16 PM
No idea.  I can do a reasonable Marge Simpson impression, but the only reason I know what Beavus and Butthead or South Park even look like are from pictures.  What the heck, as long as we have internet, I can be blissful in my ignorance of all things cable.

I believe that Soly's confusion stems from the fact that Beaver and Steve is, to my knowledge, a (hilarious) webcomic.

Oh Jesus shit, I got confused.  This is what I get for reading forums before I've had my morning hot chocolate.

Hot chocolate in the morning = person who wakes up joyfully looking forward to the day.

Hot coffee in the morning = person who wakes up groggily looking to steel themselves for the day.

Yup, I'm a confirmed coffee drinker.

Ah, let's see...

People whose morning comes in the afternoon = Pepsi, Mountain Dew, or some sort of energy drink.  Breakfast of champions.  Also likely to eat cold pizza or whatever's handy as their first food of the day.

Making fun of it?  My dear Panda, I would never.  Pierce my veins and you'll get coffee instead of blood.  Take my word on that.  How else could I stay up until 2 am and get back up at 6?

Truth be told, I had to substitute decaf for most of the regular I normally drink not long ago.  Doc's orders.

people normally do not believe smoking can kill, i cant say my father died from it, but he did indirectly. Plus he couldn't even go down stairs for some beers without getting tired, with 50years? i hope i can still play basketball or whatever with 50.

Have you ever tried iced peppermint tea?  Lovely in the heat of summer.  I grow a bed of it mainly for that very purpose.  That's the only time I ever put sugar in an herbal tea.  Otherwise, I prefer them without any sort of sweetener.

I know a wonderful recipe for some basil lemonade. You soak the basil in syrupized sugar. The syrupy sugar is them mixed with lemons. So good, but have to make sure you don't but to much of the syrup in or else you are screwed.

I'll have to try that one!  I just transplanted some basil into my garden yesterday.  Ahhhh, pesto.

You just soak the leaves, correct, not actually brew them?  I don't suppose I could coax you into sharing that recipe, could I?

Title: Re: You May Find This Interesting
Post by: Khablan on May 17, 2007, 12:56:27 PM
Its name was simply Panda.  Oh, and there was Joe Panda, who was a guy my dad worked with when I was little.  People could never pronounce his real name - it was one of those really long Polish-sounding ones, so we shortened it to Panda.  I doubt he'd actually be considered competition, though.  Technically, even though he was one really hairy guy, that isn't the same as bonafide fur.  And he definitely wasn't cute OR cuddly.   :-P

Pandamonium has been done and pur/per puns have as well, as you pointed out, so both are old news (as it were).  The difference I saw, though, was that PUR punned her unique name, not "pur" like the sound a cat makes.  Maybe it's nit-picky, but it made a difference to me. ;D

Send it to me! Please. Once you find it that is. I would love to add it to my own collection.

EDIT: I think I found one. (http://www.nansons-place.com/tuts/logos/sigfile4a.gif)

Oh those are adorable!  You're doing better than I am - I haven't found a single one yet.  Penguins and bears, but no pandas!  I'd have thought there'd be lots out there.  I mean really, who doesn't love pandas?

If I find more, I'll be sure to send them to you!

One merely needs to google "panda smiley" and voila!

Hmm... I tried googling "free smiley" and then searched within the results for panda.  Nuttin.  Guess it doesn't hurt to try different ways of searching.
