Title: The New Constitution
Post by: Annex on March 29, 2008, 01:16:14 AM
The Delegate serves roughly the same role as before, but now the Senate is replaced by the citizen's assembly. I find myself somewhat puzzled by the changes, though we shall see how they go. It almost seems to both tend further toward a much-needed authoritarianism while simultaneously shifting drastically towards a direct democracy. Can such an assembly provide an effective check on the Delegate, or would it be best to use an elected body of representatives?

In a real world situation Direct Democracies only work on a small scale. There are too many varying opinions for it too work on a large scale. It's been proven to not work. Whether or not it'll work here, I don't know. We'll see I guess.
