Tea is the best drink ever. I love it, there is no wrong time for tea time. You can have it hot, iced, or luke warm. Sugar, milk, cream, honey, lemon, lime, mango, limitless options. You got your types of tea. It's the best.
This thread is to pay respects to the great drink, tea.
Best tea cup:

Wow... it's so sparkly clean around here now, one could almost drink off the floor.
*tips hat to oc*
My, my, oh yes.
-
Tea? I'll pass.
-
Tea...just sometimes, specially in the winter, cold nights or when I'm reading or something, just to keep my inside warm. Some sort of pragmatic value over Tea but why not?
-
Tea defines civilization more than plumbing does
-
What's the practical value of that? Who drinks tea is civilized?
-
I don't drink tea...
-
Tea - I adore it. You, OC, are a gentleman among savages.
"Herbal" tea is my personal area of expertise, though I occasionally indulge in one of the more enjoyable black teas such as Earl Grey and enjoy white tea from time to time. Any mixture with mint or chamomile in it is almost guaranteed to succeed in passing my taste test.
Fresh tea, of course, is the best sort. "Loose-leaf" tea is so far superior to bagged teas there is no contest whatsoever.
-
I don't like the kinds of black tea and sorts of colors, even Orange tea tastes more like Orange color than Orange fruit. (lol)
Although Green tea is the one I rather, with leaves, I don't like the mixtures and dusts, the flavor of the leaf is much better and no so chemically raped.
-
Greeen tea is lovely, indeed. Again, however, it should be all-natural and loose-leaf to be sufficiently yummy.
Orange tea is yummy to me, though... I quite enjoy it.
-
How about the most easy, natural and common one, lemon tea...
-
I'm not a big fan of lemon tea, actually. For some reason it just doesn't tickle my fancy.
-
Really? I like lemon tea among other things. Speaking of which, I now want tea...
-

Is it just me or are those whales enjoying that way too much? :-P
Oh and I like tea, too. Pretty much any tea, except chamomile. yuck.
-
Chinese tea (in the right mood) is wonderful,
otherwise 1 sugar please!
-
Loose leaf green tea steeped in water that's just below the boiling point :wb:
Mint tea, Chai Tea, Earl Grey, Orange Pekoe... all sorts of great teas out there, far too many to name.
Personally I like my tea straight, on occasion with a slice of lemon
-
Oooh, I adore chai! I admit to perverting chai tea at times; I love it in a latte. ^_^

Eew, sugar. You should only need sugar if the tea is really crappy (or if you're in one of those weird, saccharine moods).
-
ewww, Saccharine is artificial sweetener. Bleh! That stuff is poison.
-
Mm... poison.

:-\

i like nestea

Fake tea..............bleh
-

Hey Bara, I know everyone else lets you put their threads to shit, but please leave my threads alone. I made this post to read about what people thought about tea, not for you own personal post count bump. If you have nothing to contribute, don't even waste my time. Posts like "Ok"and "Rwar" bring nothing to the topic, or don't even venture into interesting off-topic.
So I ask you before you hit the post button in a thread again, to think, "Does this thread contribute to the quality of the thread/forum?" if it does not, don't post. Keep that crap in the spam forum.
Back on topic, yesterday I had two huge cups of tea. My main problem is I only have one larger cup, and the rest of the cups are not large enough for my tea desires. Time to rock the tea kettle.
-
but i relaly do like tea.
you know, arziona green tea is good. anybody had that?
-
Arizona? Even if it's arziona, I haven't, no, what's the difference with other green tea?
-

It's a brand of Iced Tea in the US.
-
i dont know. i just still like it.
-
Well, I never heard of it. Our Iced Tea market is over-dominated by Lipton. Nestea tries to make a stand but...no use.
Now about normal tea, we have large access, maybe because of being the ones that actually destributed for long time trough Europe, we have tea coming from every side, Gibraltar(the 'routes' passing trough Morroco, probably Indian and North-African tea), England, and China are the most common, and again, flooded with Lipton.
-
ah, i see.
-
I don't trust any iced tea which lists "flavor" as an ingredient... I had always thought that flavor in tea was provided by the ingredients, but how can flavor be an ingredient of it's self. Whenever I cook or make my own teas I don't add "flavor" and it still has taste

What's the practical value of that? Who drinks tea is civilized?
Tea is a medium, be it warming or cooling..it invites unpolluted communication-communion, sharing..but also drunken in isolation-it invites reflection, pause and sanctuary. It lends art and decoration to the substance of water-to which we're all dependent.
Personally I favor the loose black tea too,yet occasionally, there is nothing as refreshing as sweetened cooled hibiscus, or ginger, lemon, mint and honey, hot or cold.
I'm a big coffee fan too..no doubt...but coffee isn't nearly as charming.
-
I always wondered what "natural flavor" looked like.

Ahhh, a man of culture around here. A true gentleman. Not from UK are you with all that knowledge on tea?
England - the home of tea drinking!
-
lol...it's basically the same here, allot of us drink either coffee or tea, because of colonies and trade-routes, after all, it was us who implemented it in Europe, specially England.
Although in this cases I rather be practical, I see no practical value over tea, pragmatically it only warms you, gives you flavor, and probably gives you comfy tummy, the rest is wonder.

I must agree with Templarios; truly cultured (and quite correct on all counts). Tea seems to possess the very essence of tranquility and spirituality; some nearly otherworldly quality that inspires and enhances the mind's ability to find peace, centeredness, and a muse. Sharing tea with another allows for a deep sense of communion, as you say, the warmth, flavor, and scent adding a feeling of openness and calm. Never have I managed to discover why it makes one feel such things, but over and over again have I experienced it.
This doesn't, of course, usually happen with iced tea in my experience (or the flavor of the feeling is diluted, at best [oh gracious, terrible tea humor]). I won't touch "tea mixes", those awful powders you mix with water to make tea-flavored drinks, unless served them by someone in whose home I am a guest, at which point I do not wish to offend.

That is most certainly NOT the saccharine to which I was referring, I assure you! Artificial sweeteners are of the devil. >:D
-
Good, glad we a agree darlin'. :wb:

I switch off between coffee and tea, but ever since I was a child I've loved milk-brewed tea. It's chai, but not the spice chai, just good black tea brewed in milk (no fair putting the milk in afterwards). The steam brings out the lactose in the milk and it's sweet without sugars.
When I order it in the coffee houses, I ask for a Cambric, but I have no idea where that name came from.
Comforting like no whiskey has ever been.
And it's just soo... sooo... mmmmMMMMMMmmmmmm.
Mm!

England - the home of tea drinking!
A woman, (more precisely), and not from the UK. Born and raised in USA but expat for over 20 years-living in Italy. Tea is NOT Italian- and unlike many other consumables, the Italians do what they can to botch it, as tea is NOT Italian and therefore doesn't deserve respect here. Ahhhhhhh.......they'll never know what they are missing....
The gentleman in my life; basically my Italian bf and my Scottish bf ( bf=boyfriend and best friend respectively) understand, thank goodness, that if they wish to make me happy in the afternoon or evening, they can prepare me a luscious beautiful cup of tea.

Oh no, the women are getting together. Soon their menstrual cycles will synchronise...
-
Men create women special channels so they can be entertained while we govern the world, don't worry.
-
I really hope that was a joke...
-
actually, why is there women special channels? I can't find men special channels...but in any way, at least here, the Portuguese women special channel has 40% audience of men. As they put it, we can't understand women, so we try to learn in every opportunity we have to be curious about it.
-
*nods*
yep.

There are guy TV channels in the U.S. Is that what you're talking about?
I don't watch TV anyway. Guess that makes me dangerous...

Speaking of which. You know you don't taste tea (with the exception o flavored tea) It's smell there is no type of t bud (you know, sweet and bitter) your toung can't pick it up. It's funny because you're smelling down you neck you're brain processes it as taste.
I find that incredibly interesting
You're free to call me a nerd. I'm used to it

:wb: Glad there is a tea fan base here.

As am I! Tea is such a wonderful thing, and its a true shame more people aren't in love with it the way we seem to be.
