Well in my area it's completely icy everywhere, on the trees, the streets, and even in my freezer :o. Hehe, I got up this morning, got ready, and then when I got outside my car was all ice to the ground because the previous day it rained so there's icicles from my car to the ground and my tires looked like they were elmo glued to the street. So then I knew I was going to be late for school for sure so I call a friend who I know puts his car in the garage, "Hey, can you give me a ride to school today? my car is basically glued to the street."
"What the !@#$ are you calling me so early for, it's a !@#$ing snow day!" "oh... :-\.... :).... :D.... ;D...!" NO CHEMISTRY TEST WooHOO!
So now I'm on the computer telling you about a 'snow day' in Texas. Oxymoron yes :D...
-
indeed. Care to send some of that snow our way, Oz?
-
You're in Texas, and you get an ice day. Meanwhile, I'm here in Massachusetts and until today it's been as though it were spring. Certainly, hardly a flake of snow to be seen, and not a day off.
It must be a sign of the Apocalypse :P
-
Haha! :D
-
Oh, four horsemen!?
-
And some git's just pulled the fire alarm, causing everyone to have to wait out in the cold (but snowless) outside. One kid collapsed from hypothermia.
-
hey GC how are you responding during school anyhow?
-
He is magic. As am I! Aberacadabera!
-
I don't get "snow days", but I was mostly trapped at home from last Friday after work through Monday. The streets were a skating rink! The residential streets are STILL terrible, but I have managed to get from my house to the main streets without hitting anything the last two days.
It's supposed to get above freezing soon, so I hope that will melt some of that stuff off the roads.
-
Damn, i can't remember the last time it really snowed in Britain!!

I thought it snowed in Britain! IT did in Harry Potter!!! :P
-
Snow day? It is that sort of attitude that lost America it's empire. When I was a lad we used to struggle to school through blizzards and hail and floods and plagues of gnats. And then they made us sit in classrooms so cold the ink froze in the inkwells.
Young people today? They don't know they are born!

We didn't really get much snow. It was mostly sleet & ice! I'd rather get snow.

Last time I was off school for a snow day, it was my birthday :D
I've never had a birthday in school. For the three years so far it's fallen on a weekday, school has been shut...
-
Can I have some snow?
-
Rochester gets plenty. I'll sell you some.
-
I've never seen snow where I have lived. It got really cold in the Appalachians of Alabama, but it never snowed. But here in Destin, its 80 fucking degrees every day.
-
Off periods, PUR

I assume you don't mean the craphole in the North of England. ;)
-
It seems we have our fair share of New Englanders and Britons in Taijitu. The only ones south of the Mason-Dixon are Dixie and I :(
-
Ha ha! You're on your ownes. ???
I really really really wish that Norfolk would get some snow. I mean, some parts of Britain grind to a halt. We grind to a halt after trying to carry on. I can remember the last time that is snowed heavily enough to warrant a 'Snow Day'. Our school was still open >:( We went there, slipping and sliding all of the way. When we got to school, at break we had a wonderful snowball fight. Then we were all called into the hall and told to go home. Ah, good times.
-
Hey hey, Ryaz... Oz an' I 're both in Texas...So don't say thet y'all are the ONLY ones... >:( sheesh ::)
-
Haha Global warming... IT only affects the UK! Hahahahahaha

No snow or ice here.
Tampa, Florrrrrrida! :D
Yep, Florida doesn't have snow, ice, or hills. But we've got tons of old people. Enough to go around....anyone want some old people?
-
We had another snowfall in Missouri yesterday afternoon. My GF and I were blowing my paycheck at the casino, and when we left, it was coming down thick and fast. I had to drive her clear across town back to her house, and then back a long way back to mine. The streets weren't too bad yet, but by the time I got back to my house, the side streets were starting to get slick.
-
man, you should have driven her home and then got snowed in there (wink wink)
-
I probably would have, but her brother & sister were staying with her. :(
-
i see, WEll then ya shoulda driven over to your place hehe
-
Hehe...today, I watched "The Day After Tomorrow"...fits well, not?
In austria, there was one day school free because of a storm, but luckily we had no snow to yet and it don“t looks like it will.
-
das good ya?
-
Yeah, I'm in Texas too. It's a shame that there was'nt any real snow. I still can't figure out why we did'nt go to school, but i suppose it's cool.

Yay! I :wb:snowdays! :drunks:

Is this still going on? I read today that there are big snow storms in New England and 16 people have died?
-
Oh yes yes! I can confirm that for you in person. It was wonderful, we finally got a day off from school and no wonder! There were sections of roads which were either sheets of ice or gigantic oceans of slush.
-
Pffft. Here in Maine, we got 16 inches of snow, had one snowday, and then a two-hour delay because the roads still sucked. Down in Massachusetts you don't know real snow. And your lobster sucks too.
-
Albany has 2 feet, and -9 degrees (with wind chill).
-
I HATE snow. Not a good thing since I live in Canada. Today was like -20C with out wind chill.
-
It was around 50F here.
-
We had a good amount here in Maryland.
-
hey myrorian, i live up here in maine too, and we got 16in's but we had two snow days in a row. :D :D. but like some said, the top was mostly ice from bangor all the way down. but 1hr. north, it was great snow.
-
I'm in Wales we get snow you go a mile inland and its min 2-3 inches for most of the winter.
I've never had a snow day.
one time the roads froze so bad the gritters couldn't get out, this meant that the buses weren't running so my high school made us walk, some poor buggers had to walk about 5-6 miles over iced up ways to get there.
