Title: Shoutbox
Post by: Eluvatar on March 24, 2007, 11:35:19 PM
The shoutbox we had been using has been removed because it was using up too much (http://forum.taijitu.org/uselevels.html) system resources.

For perspecive of how much it was using:

The same kind of shoutbox is highly unlikely to be installed :(

Unfortunate... Hopefully a new, lesser form of the shoutbox could be created. :(

Bummer, but I noticed how much it slowed the forum down.

Damn the SB was active, yet the IRC is always dead.   Why dont we have a link on the forums to the Tai IRC?

No clue, it is imperative we look into that, methinks. Anyways, if you plan to put in a SB, nerf the features (not everyone needs a coffee maker in their SUV) but keep it so we don't have to refresh the page.

Cause not many people know how to get to it, or that it even exists.

I don't know about it, though I knew it existed because of the Baltija incident. If I knew about it, I might frequent it.

Well, I suppose I could add an announcement concerning it to the news bulletins.

Hmm, apparently the SB was what was keeping me from connecting. Odd.
