Title: Political Orientation test - BETTER THAN THE REST
Post by: verak on September 13, 2007, 03:25:40 AM
Rephias, the leader of CC, programmed a political test

It requires downloading BUT I assure you it's not too big of a file, and it's the best test ever.

http://www.freewebs.com/corporateconservative/politicalorientation.htm

Go there to download it.

Unlike the Political Compass which has biased or useless questions(Some questions are asked again, they simply use different words).

The test also has a Moderate/Neutral position and a better explanation.

And since it's Nationstates related, there were some Nationstates questions added to determine whether or not you're a Defender, Raider, Imperialist, or Vulture. You also find out what your UN category would be, what region you belong to, who your allies should be, and who your enemies might be.

EVERYONE TRY IT!

Explanation of my Belief:

Quote
What is an Anarcho-Capitalist Ultra-Conservative?

Anarcho-Capitalists who are Ultra-Conservative are a very rare breed of political
ideologies. You are a die hard Capitalist, and believe people should fight for Capitalism to
the death. You are most likely extremely Anti-Communist and believe the military and
secret police should seek out "Dangerous Anti-Capitalist" individuals in society.

You would support a dictatorship most likely, however democracy IS compatible with this belief. So long as it gives the government excessive powers.

Who is my political hero?

Quote
Lee Kuan Yew!

Lee Kuan Yew was the Prime Minister of
Singapore for decades and currently holds the
special positon "Minister Mentor".

Lee Kuan Yew transformed tiny fishing village
Singapore into the most Capitalist independent
nation on Earth. Lee Kuan Yew's conservative
beliefs also made Singapore the most socially
conservative democracy in the world.

His party, the People's Action Party, have been
ruling Singapore as a one-party state
uninterrupted since 1959.

He has been accused of being a dictator by
critics for his laws that inflict upon free speech.
Singapore also has strict laws against
pornography, homosexuality, drugs, and
smoking. The execution rate in Singapore is also the highest in the world.

What is a Capitalist-Moderate?

Often termed the "Centre-Right" in political talk, a moderate Capitalist would support a
reasonable amount of social freedom along with lots of economic freedom.

Many Western Countries have adopted this policy, and it's reasonable to say that it works well.

my political hero
Stephen Harper is the current Prime Minister of
Canada, representing the Conservative Party.
Although Stephen Harper was more Right-wing
in his earlier years, he eventually became
socially moderate to appeal to a large range of
people.

He has led a minority government for well over a
year now, and has impressed most
Conservative commentors. However his support
for the Afghanistan War has lowered his
support in vote-rich Quebec - traditionally a
pacifist province.

Stephen Harper has lowered taxes for businesses and individuals, and lowered the unpopular GST by 1% - with a further 1% promised later this year. He supports Two-Tier healthcare, and has plans to privitize Canada's Crown Corporations.

that would be it

12% Anarcho
38% Corporatism (how?)

social
23% Anarchist
28% Liberal
27% Moderate
15% Conservative
0% Ultra-Conserve

Quote
What is a Corporatist-Liberal?

Corporatist Liberals are ones who believe in lots of freedom for the people, however
support a controlling social credit leaning government.

Government intervention is seen as a good way to halt unemployment, and the
government often interferes with where people can work.

This form of government was often seen as a quick way to get out of depressions.

my hero
Quote
Franklin Roosevelt is the longest serving United
States President. He is credited with bringing
the USA out of the depression, and leading the
country to war against Nazi Germany and
Imperial Japan.

Roosevelt brought to America the economic
plan called "New Deal". The New Deal was
deeply rooted in Mussolini's Corporatism and
Fascism. It included deep government planning,
big government, and large-scale ownership over
the economy.

Roosevelt is often considered a mile-stone for modern American liberalism, and is often seen as one of the top three Presidents.

LOL!!! What i can say, this test was made by and for Americans, some of the questions were misleading and had misleading answers. Special for education and security, i remember one of the education questions was if students could have a vast program of everything and they would learn anything, or just learn to respect the individual and prepare them to the workforce. Basically i would rather the 1st option as basic school and 2nd option for professional school, so it's a mix of both...that's basically what we have in Portugal.

Actually the test was made by a Canadian, and was aimed at Canadians lol

Especially since a lot of the political heroes were Canadian, from what I noticed

EDIT: Corporatism has nothing to do with business Corporations really

Delfos, if it was written by an American (Even though it's not), what f****** difference does it make? You don't like it for that reason? We're sorry for stopping the Nazis before they decide neutral countries are not safe from their Lebensraum. We're sorry for stopping you from torturing, enslaving, and stealing from the New World. Is that what you want us to say?

Your Favorite Political Leader...

Murray Rothbard was an influential
Jewish-American economist and political
activist. After studying at the Austrian School of
Economics, he became a promoter and
economist of laissez-faire Capitalism.

Murray Rothbard rejected the idea of a State,
and supported Anarchy as the solution to man's
problems - which he believes were caused by
the State in the first place.

However he rejected some Anarchist ideas -
such as the labour theory of value. Instead he promoted the free market for deciding prices and wages.

Quote
Explanation:

What is an Anarcho-Capitalist?

You believe in absolute freedom in everything, and no government whatsoever. Society
should be just left on its own.

Governments only cause more problems for people, and are too authoritarian for society to be truly free.

This is complete bullcrap. I'm not an Anarcho-Capitalist, I'm not Anarcho-anything.

Yes basically Canadians live in American continent, one point for me when i had put in cause the word 'Americans', are you Canadian? Are you not North American?, i meant it was made by 'american' 'westerners'. This couldn't be applied to many countries around the world, even European westerners if you include us in 'the west'. Asks allot of things that Americans and probably Canadians have, things that Europeans don't. Specially in Gun ownership (all answers were extreme, i ended up restricting them to military/police only), taxation of products (no mention of deadly products, ended up having most of the products without tax but 'some' (which?) with tax), education, and above all, security. "We should pull out of Iraq and Afghanistan and the terrorists won't bother us", like...terrorists don't bother the Portuguese and we're in Iraq and Afghanistan, although we are serving as peace keepers, so this wouldn't work because it means we as invasion force. Some questions could only concern that kind of countries or people. Imagine a conservative Islamic doing that test...that's why it ends up having some weird stats for some. That's what i think.

Myroria, I'm not Anti-American, if anything, put that fact into your head instead of pulling others out of your ass like you like to say.

Title: Re: Political Orientation test - BETTER THAN THE REST
Post by: verak on September 13, 2007, 08:00:02 PM
uhhh ya  this test was meant to be fun

It's not "What do you believe in".

It's "Which one of these options is the CLOSEST to your belief"

So don't flip out if there's one thing different than your actual belief. Most likely it wouldn't make much of a difference.

agreed, but I'm starting to think most of this tests are restricting people into groups, even if they belong there, people are people, not packs. Anyway, thanks for the advice towlie, but there's no problem, Myroria likes to spit to the air.

Unlike the Political Compass which has biased or useless questions(Some questions are asked again, they simply use different words).
There's a reason for this, that has to do with reliability.  All good opinion surveys repeat questions at least two or three times to gague the reliability of the response.

Also, this downloads quite slowly, so I'll get back to you with my results.

let's just drop the issue, and wait for other ppl to take the test.

Most ppl who took the test were relatively impressed, especially since the test took hours of programming and hard work to complete. It's the thought that counts.

I'm still trying to find out all the diff political heroes. I love taking the test over and over to find out lol

My results.  Shield your eyes: these results came from the bowels of the Lost Ark, and have the tendency to vaporize Nazis.  I'm not sure what they'd to do other types of Righties.

ANARCHIST COMMUNISM: a.k.a. what I hoped and thought I'd get  :-P

Economic
Communism: 48%
Socialism: 8%
Social Democrat: 8%
Corporatism: 31%
Capitalism: 15%
Anarcho: 23%

Social
Anarchist: 65%
Liberal: 35%
Moderate: 4%
Conservative: 8%
Ultra-conservative: 0%

Explanation of your Belief
Communist-Anarchists support a class-less society, one that is built on communal
ownership and collectivism.

A violent revolution is always one way to dissolve the government, and the best way to revolt is to get all the workers of the world to unite! On to victory!

Political Hero  :wb:
Peter Kropotkin was one of Russia's foremost
anarchists and one of the first advocates of
anarchist communism: the model of society he
advocated for most of his life was that of a
communalist society free from central
government.

He wrote many books, pamphlets, and articles
and contributed greatly to Anarcho-Communist
theory.

He wrote on animal and human evolution, and
provided an alternative to Social Darwinism. He
has gone to jail nurmerous times and has even
been expelled from Switzerland.

He FITS you!

Nationstates
UN Category: Left-Wing Utopia
Region: Anarcho Communist Federation
Befrend: Anarhopunx
Enemies: Corporate Conservative.  Duh.

Defender: 40%
Vulture: 40%
Apathetic: 0%
Imperialist: 20%
Raider: 0%

Well, I must say, I'm rather proud of the fact that I got (mostly) what I thought I should get.  I was hoping for Rosa Luxembourg as my political hero, but one can't have everything in life.  I'm not in love with the test, though, and I've found the politicsforum test to be more informative.

What is a Social Democrat - Moderate?

Social Democratic Moderates are indeed in the very centre of the political spectrum.
They support economic and social freedom, but not too much. They believe that a
moderate mixture of everything is the best for society.

You would live by the motto "Be moderate in everything you do."

So I'm a moderate.  Man, that's boring.

I just took the PoliticsForum quiz. I didn't make an account there, am I missing out on important parts of it?

And, this was really the first one that hit spot on:

Quote
Overall, the PoliticsForum quiz considers you a materialist, small-government, nationalist, free-trade, absolutist, liberal-market kind of person, who doesn't sound like a Marxist. [Unlike the quiz this thread is about, which judged me as 7% communist]

Quote
You scored 40 out of 100 on a scale of Individual vs Social. This means that politically you are neither more nor less likely to value the need for group actions and group benefit over individual enterprise and benefit.

You scored 90 out of 100 on a scale of Theist vs Materialist. This means that politically you are more likely to believe that religion and spirituality are superstitions that should not inform political debate.

You scored 93 out of 100 on a scale of Big Government vs Small Government. This means that politically you are more likely to believe that government should keep out of legislating social policies, leaving such decisions to individuals.

You scored 26 out of 100 on a scale of Nationalist vs Internationalist. This means that politically you are less likely to favour international bodies over national ones.

You scored 100 out of 100 on a scale of Protectionist vs Free Trader. This means that politically you are more likely to favour free trade over protectionist policies.

You scored 35 out of 100 on a scale of Absolutist vs Non Absolutist. This means that politically you are more likely to believe that there is an absolute truth that may guide your ideological beliefs.

You scored 67 out of 100 on a scale of Controlled Market vs Liberal Market. This means that politically you are less likely to believe that there is need for government regulation of industry.

You scored 65 out of 100 on a scale of Marxist vs Non-Marxist. This means that politically you are less likely to follow the philosophies of Marx.

Social Democrat - Conservative

Social Democratic Conservatives support a moderate Capitalist economy, and usually
see that perhaps a big government may be better for society.

You would support Conservative policies such as a strong military, and tough laws
against things inappropriate for society. Many high-profile religious figures belong to this
category. This is often linked to the "Third Way" theory put forth by Pope John Paul II.

hero:

Pope John Paul II was the 2nd longest serving
Pope of the Roman Catholic Church.

Pope John Paul II often promoted the "Third
Way" in between Capitalism and Communism.
He was highly Anti-Communist and was against
all forms of dictatorships.

He was a Conservative, and was againt
abortion, same-sex marriage, birth control, stem
cell research, and euthanasia. He was a
promoter of peace, and is often considered one
of the most influential figures of the 20th
century.

He is contributed with helping to bring about the end of Communism in Eastern Europe. However despite being mostly Anti-Communist, he was also critical of uncontrolled Capitalism.
