I don't understand the second one  ???

The whole "We're Texans, everything here is better than everything everywhere else" thing gets on my nerves.

Oz.

i guess that we can apply Texans as micro-structure of Americans. Something about North vs South war? Any American would like to clarify me about it?

No, Delfos, considering it's a pretty blatant attempt at inciting an argument.  I'll leave you to it.  Not worth the bother.

Delfos, stop smashing the Americans. Its like watching someone make fun of a retard. (haha, double edge right there).

hey suddenly you all loose your arguing spirit, this is amasing, whenever i get bothered I'll smack 'The Wall of Patriotism'.

Hehe... I laughed at second one. Being a Texan makes you think a LOT diff'rently. A Texan likely made that second one. If I could find it, there's a Texan version of the map of the US which I find quite HI-larious. Oh, and Myro, I'm from around Austin, Texas, don't leave me outta yer hatred, 'specially since Austinites are the most damned liberal wackos on da planet (or at least Texas). There's a reason why they say "Keep Austin Wierd."

Delfos, your hate for Americans used to be engaging and dumb in a funny way. Now it's just blatant nationalism for Portugal.
Title: Re: points of view
Post by: Delfos on July 13, 2007, 02:43:06 PM
hypocrite!

anyway, thanks Talmann that's what i was asking. Could anyone post more funny 'points of view' ?

oh, i love Americans, there wouldn't be the Simpsons...or donuts, or Fidel, or Chavez. Amasing, some of the greatest products exist because of Americans. Portuguese Nationalism? like hail Salazar? I don't think so.

Oh, we would also be without a lot of other exiting stuff, like a flag on the moon, personal computers, the internet, CDs/DVDs, the panama canal and so on, then there are the power factors that wouldn't be: Al Quaida, Saddam Hussein, Contras, the taliban, illegal and militant Israeli settlers... the list goes on.

yeah ok, I'll try.

Nice map Barakin, you can see those views are made from 'VIP', like, they say Spanish people are artistic...because of picasso and gaudi?

If i mean American Civil War...i don't know, probably, there was more that shaped Texas. That's why I'm asking, I guess Talmann is the right one to ask?

Is it trendy to hate the USA?

Title: Re: points of view

at least the president.
Title: Re: points of view

I don't think it is fair to hate the president, no matter how hip it is.  I think if one was not happy with the way things went the last 8 years with our country, then you would have to blame the entire government.

hah! this is supposed to be a joke topic. I got loads of sense of humor, also allot of compassion, something you don't have Myro. What makes you different from Hitler or Saddam?
Title: Re: points of view
Post by: Myroria on August 14, 2007, 02:03:15 AM
Here's something to start:

I'm funny.

I don't kill people.

Any more bland, unoriginal insults, Botelo?

And about being compassionate: You can start by getting people to hug you when you enter IRC as they do to me, and not entering just to call the people in it foolish.

Title: Re: points of view
Post by: Delfos on August 14, 2007, 02:38:53 AM
:o you are hugged in mIRC? you should try to get yourself fixed, i have friends for that, no need to go to mIRC.

I actually have more insults, but I'm worried about you.

I don't kill people.

A clear sign of incompetence.

And about being compassionate: You can start by getting people to hug you when you enter IRC as they do to me, and not entering just to call the people in it foolish.

Everyone gets hugged, though Myro exceptionally seldom.

i would say this whole thing would be off topic, but it isn't, just that some take this whole thing serious.

finally found this, wasn't that hard.

I guess i won't have to do that.

this one is a classic, although has been changed by some guy, it was more simple back a few years ago.

I see why he has so many spelling errors. Apparently those Portuguese smash their computers with hammers. You'd have trouble spelling if you typed with a hammer too!

So feel sorry for them everyone! Let's take time out of our lives and feel sorry for the Portuguese nation, perhaps send them a cherry pie or a custard.

Portugal... Please! Will you make me a human footstool!

Not that I want to agree with Myroria, but...Delfos, I expected better.  Guess I shouldn't have.

Plus, Portugal messed up my World Cup picks (I lost MONEY).  I had them winning the World Cup last year.  Grr.
Title: Re: points of view
Post by: Delfos on August 14, 2007, 11:53:45 PM
hey blame the french, don't you love the french?

I'm not insulting anyone, this topic is meant for you to post the most pathetic points of view of Europe vs usa or something, yours seem more directed to my person, not as pathetic, but also stupid. If you feel insulted, then you surely need help. Amasing how the wall of patriotism crumbles with mocking.

Wake up, people!

Plus the picture of Bush is labeled 'Europeans that love Bush', i guess you missed that.

Our technical skills are legend. Industrial Era came too late in Portugal, around the 1900. Since then the general 'we', haven't catch up with modern technology. There are still villages receiving their first electrical posts around here. On the counter effect, Portuguese elite electronics and robotics are one of the best, just don't forget some of the robotic parts of the Space Shuttle were 'Made in Portugal' (designed, not made). Still...my mom accomplished to send a text message in 2007, after having a cellphone since...i can't remember, around 2000? People were making Cubism and we were still in Naturalism. That's the story behind that drawing

Now end your bloody arrogance and paste some interesting pics.

Oh, 'hate' is such a strong word, ofc English breaks it's latinic linguistic meaning. I don't hate USA or Americans. I'm quite friendly with some of them, but not the stubborn and arrogant that think USA is god's chosen country, and that Bush is guided by God. This past sentence doesn't have to have christian or religious connotations. As an ex-President of Portugal said once: "I don't doubt that Bush is being guided by God, it's just a shame that God gives him such bad advices."

Please stop, no one thinks this is funny and no one is offended by this "shocking" information.  So far every one here does not have their head up their ass to think that USA is God's chosen country.

No, I did understand.  You make a post saying that your not bashing the US then bash it at the bottom, and its not the fact that I am offended by it.  Its the fact that you are trying to call a spade, well... not a spade.
Title: Re: points of view
Post by: Talmann on August 15, 2007, 04:15:52 AM
I think the pics are hilarious, Delf. But OC's right, you've got to stop the US bashing. We got it the first few times. You keep making Bush jokes, and you're in Portugal. We're in America, WE MADE THE JOKES! So you say them, they're funny for two seconds, and that's the first time you say them, not the tenth, twentieth, or hundredth. And I don't want to rag on just you, Delf. It goes for everyone non-US. We heard y'all the first time, shut up about Bush! Do you honestly think we're all like Bush because he's in power? Hell no. Ok, rant over. Back to pictures.

Yeah, but they got that far.  I thought they might be able to pull together an offensive explosion and topple the French.  And the group stages don't matter when the knockout rounds are reached; you may remember Italy almost lost to the U.S. (they salvaged a tie on a controversial call; in fact, the US were the only team to score on the Italians until the final).

Ouch.  I had them finishing second and I think I had them pulling a first knockout upset...I don't remember, though, because it was a while ago and I lost my bracket.  I remember predicting Portugal v Brazil (Portugal taking the win over their former colony) in one semifinal, and Argentina v Germany (Germany winning the best game of the Cup thus far with the home field behind them) in the other (though that may be a faulty memory, too).
