Twenty-four states! Hell of a lot of delegates at stake! February 5th is the big day, though it still might come down to the party conventions later this year, depending on the outcomes in a few days. Draw your conclusions, make your predictions and place your bets.

I think that there will be some massive chaos at the Republican National Convention, and Jeb Bush is elected president.

And i thought this thread was about pancakes...

Heh, democracy.

If Obama does not beat Clinton Mk. II... I may be compelled to self-immolate.

I have the can of gasoline and matches ready for my part. I really hope it goes well.

I will actually be mildly surprised if you yanks actually get through the election without the current government just saying "no."
-
Oh, with all the top Administration officials guaranteed extremely high-paying jobs in the private sector after Bush's term is over, I wouldn't worry about that.

/me crosses his fingers for the good doctor.

After tonight's caucuses especially, it seems that the Democratic race may run all the way to the National Convention. I'd like to see a convention that's not just a show put on by the party without any question over who gets the nomination. It used to be that way, back when over half primaries weren't held in January-February.

As will I, Soly-chan. As will I.

for the dem's if it goes to Convention and Supers deciding that favors well for Hillary. She is favored by them and has many more clearly supporting her then Obama. IF he does not pull far enough to end it before then or have a vast lead at least by then she will take it.
For her she just needs to be close enough that her advantage with the supers can give her the Nod

All I have to say is, pancakes are ok....waffles are better~ :)
Anyway, I am not affliated to any particular party .... but if it were to go down that Hillary Clinton made into office, I will be moving to Cananda or Mexico. Actually just about anywhere to get out of the states, cause if she gets it, we're screwed, without lube no less.
The one thing I am sorry to see is that Mitt Romney dropped out so soon, of course I was pulling for Mitt, he wouldn't have made it but it would have been great for him to stay in it just to fuck with McCain and Huckabee.
On a side note, how can anyone take a anybody with a name like Huckabee seriously?

There's a problem with Clinton getting a win by going to the superdelegates - it would essentially be a party leadership decision, not a "democratic" decision, (not that we have the most democratic system possible in the first place.) I can see that tearing the Democratic Party apart, and I believe Hillary wouldn't hesitate to do just that in order to become the nominee. Some Democrats would stay home, a few would vote Republican out of spite, and McCain would win handily in November.
If the delegates were to make bargains at the convention in case of a near-tie, that would be different, since the people who elected them would still formally be getting a say in who becomes the nominee.

The delegate system is a horrible idea. The idea of a "Super Delegate" is even worse.

Huckabee/Colbert 08 sounded so good though.

But superdelegates are amusing. What are you going to do, choose a candidate by the desires of the people?
