Hey folks,
I realize there was, at one time, talk of a Taijitu regional anthem. So I would like to open discussion on it again.
I have 3 new suggestions for a Taijitu anthem, with even more less known nations and regions than before.
This first one is simple, and simplistic, from Vanuatu: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qPfqh7qGKj0&feature=related
The next is actually from Eastern Asia, as it is the anthem of the Republic of China: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zPtFLycLLh8
The last one is my personal favorite, it is the Welsh anthem and seems very powerful for some reason: I couldn't find a good instrumental version, so here is one with the Welsh Lyrics included. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gtX3M3SuKlQ&feature=related

Here is one that I like the instrumentals to..

Its the National anthem of Croatia..

Why not classical music, anything romantic can work. Dvorak's new world symphony (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KtE3P8Z15Pk), Beethoven's 9th (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iq-3B6xfNpY) is the European Anthem, could even be a Carl Orff Carmina Burana (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QEllLECo4OM) in any of the middle parts that are beautiful.
More?
Rossini's overture of william tell (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c7O91GDWGPU) it'd be funny from all the usage in commercials and comedy.
Schubert's 8th (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ySpn8E-dAE)
Strauss' radetski march (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eab_eFtTKFs)
[ur=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O_OZmClSt1A&feature=relmful]Wagner's ride of the valkiries[/url]
idk, I'd stick with Dvorak's typical bursts or Carl Orff's uniqueness.

I really like Dvorak's new world symphony from the beginning to 1:50. I really think it is powerful and overall a nice piece. I think it could work.
-
My only initial thought so far is I'd prefer avoiding using something that's already an actual anthem for some place, if possible.
-
Well, now we finally have an answer to that question. Anthem already in use is out. So..... Now we need to find a piece of music and create one!
Gulliver: What do you think about Dvorak's piece?
-
Brittany Spears: Hit me baby one more time?
Rebecca Black: Friday
Neither are in use as National Anthems. Both would work brilliantly, thoughts? :P

You know what'd fit with Taijitu's motto and all that? Queen - I want to break free

I'll second Myroria's link

Gulliver: What do you think about Dvorak's piece?
Nice music, but didn't strike me as particularly anthemy. The most anthemy so far that's not a real life anthem so far has been the Oceania one, and I don't want to use that one >_<
-
what's wrong with Oceania? why not http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qNLrNFbcevM&feature=related (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qNLrNFbcevM&feature=related)?

Well, I do like trains.

Well, this discussion has come to a halt.....
-
This might require some actual formal nomination and decision making process, or we'll just keep getting bogged down.
What would be really nice is if someone knew enough about music that we could make our own. I, alas, have next to no musical training.
-
That's not practical, hell we could create our own with a dull techno program, it'd sound like crap being thrown against a wall but who cares if that's what you're aiming for?
what's wrong with slicing a classical music part into our anthem?
-
There's nothing wrong with it, just not ideal. I'm not holding out for the ideal, just commenting that there are music programs for computers which include a full range of orchestral instruments, not just "techno crap", and that I've heard some pretty neat things made with them, and daydreaming about what it'd be like if I actually had any idea how to use them. I don't realistically expect it to happen, but a man can always dream.
-
A man can dream. Fruity Loops FL Studio could probably do it but I don't have the patience to play with it.
I'll think of more romantic classical music, maybe a flowerly strauss could gain your vote.
-
I like the idea of having a national anthem, but the question begs to be asked do we really need one? When exactly would be play it etc
A national anthem that was solely written for the use of Taijitu would be awesome, but its probably unlikely, unless there is someone with sufficient musical talent to make one? I certainly don't have the ability to do it.
Perhaps we could find another song and change a word or two to reflect taijitu. Not saying we should use it, but just as an example God Save the Queen, to God Save Taijitu... or Rebecca Blacks Friday to Taijitu.. lol
I think that could possibly work, but I am again not sure of the song that we should use.

Stand up, damned of Taijitu
Stand up, prisoners of starvation
Reason thunders in its volcano
This is the eruption of the end
Of the past let us make a clean slate
Enslaved masses, stand up, stand up
Taijitu is about to change its foundation
We are nothing, let us be all
|: This is the final struggle
Let us group together, and tomorrow
The Taijituans
Will be the human race :|
