Title: Cybernations
Post by: Sovereign Dixie on August 16, 2007, 04:42:04 AM
 Hey!!!

Any members of Taijitu, who also play Cybernations, check out the alliance Atlantis. I'd been out of CN for a while, and recently got back in. these guys are great and give you shit loads of aid to help you get started. If you're in CN, check out their forum here to sign up.

http://cnatlantis.com/index.php?act=idx

If you havent played Cybernations, but want to start, go to this link to create a nation. It's different from NS in alot of ways, more detailed gameplay and n00kz!!! lol Just depends on what kinda game play you're looking for, I love both for different reasons.

http://www.cybernations.net/

For first timers though, when creating your name, under "Alliance Affiliation" selected "Other-Specify' then type in Atlantis. For team colour, choose white. Then just click on the first link above, and apply for membership.

Ok, when you first said that, I thought it was Atlantis, I went to the higher ups, who were confused. Until you posted and said it was CN itself. They did some checking, and found that evidently the CN admins are not accepting  new nations for the moment, due to the fact that the tensions are so high in that game, they're a gnats fart away from a world war. So, hopefully, they'll be lifting that soon.

I tried this game once, I couldn't find it all that appealing though :(

However that could have been because of the fact that the same thing that's going on now was happening back then. I was trying to register for like 2 weeks.

I tried CN about a year ago.  It was ok, but I didn't really have time to keep up with it, and drifted away shortly after fighting off an attack.

I joined it really early on, but never logged in again since I found it all rather tiresome.

I plan to registering again and joining the NPO, whenever it's allowed again.
Title: Re: Cybernations
Post by: Sovereign Dixie on August 20, 2007, 10:31:32 PM
CN is now taking registrations again. The thread is sticky because I didnt wanna have to keep bumping it lol. Back in the Lex, we tried making an extension of the region into CN, but failed due mostly to RL issues of the main players involved. I do not have the time nor inclination to start a Taijitu based CN alliance, as it's extremely labor intensive and the politics in CN are even more complex than those of NS.

So, when I started back playing CN, I checked out several alliances, and found Atlantis to be hands down the best and most helpful, they are patient with new players, and really try hard to get you off to a good start. I know that alot of NS players dabble in both games, as I myself do, so I wanted to let those in Taijitu know where I personally reccomend they go. It's a large enough alliance (263 players) to be relevant, and small enough to where a newbie can make an impact.

Another one of my reasons is partly selfish, I really like the community we have here in Taijitu, and seeing some familiar names and faces over in Atlantis would really rock for me! lol

So yeah, to anyone who tried applying in the last few days, only to find CN being a bitch and not accepting, try again, as I hear the registrations are back up.

Lol I've been playing this for some time now.  All you commies out there, DON'T join LSF.  I have reliable intelligence that all the active members, including myself, are leaving to form a new alliance because the old one turned to shit in the space of a month.
Title: Re: Cybernations
Post by: Sovereign Dixie on August 31, 2007, 01:32:23 AM
LOL Yes, GC, actually, I'm surprised you're still playing, last i remember, you were bitching that you couldn't stifle your citizenry with a 100% tax rate :P Not sure how many communists are in Atlantis, think I seen one, who seemed to be more of a Stalinist variety (at least IC) but, I havent seen anyone being picked on for their government of choice.

Anyways, I HAVE VERIFIED THIS FOR MYSELF, AND REGISTRATION IS OPEN AND RUNNING!!

New members get 250k sign up (thought admittedly slow at times lol) and can also get 3mil in new player aid relatively easy.

For all those who are too lazy :P to go to the first post and get the links, I'll put 'em here.

http://www.cybernations.net/ (http://www.cybernations.net/) To Register a new nation into the game.

http://cnatlantis.com/index.php?act=idx (http://cnatlantis.com/index.php?act=idx) To join the Atlantis alliance.

Post by: Amy on August 31, 2007, 02:27:10 AM
Gah...sorry...forgot to mention something else.

I received a very threatening PM from a member of the alliance a couple of days ago...to which I am not going to respond because if they want to threaten me they can piss off. It was with regards to signing a thread once every couple of weeks to say that I was still active...if I don't...they are threatening to have my trades removed (I'd like to see them try), and to have me kicked out of the alliance. I'll forward the message to anyone interested in joining the alliance but concerned.

I've been meaning to talk to SD about this, but he hasn't been around and although online at the moment...not signed into IRC etc, so I'll talk to him next time I can.

erm... nice... turkey??

Anways, yep, Amy is right, I looked into it, and it would seem that a member of the Alliance gets a bit over zealous at times, but the actions they threaten are not legal, I have reported this to the proper authorities, along with my personal condemnation of the act, and It will be dealt with.
Title: Re: Cybernations
Post by: Sovereign Dixie on September 02, 2007, 03:48:07 PM
Rec'd confirmation a few days ago that the offending party has been chastised adequately, so that shouldnt be an issue anymore.

i talked to one of the alliance bigwigs, and he agreed to offer an additional 250k in signup aid to anyone from this forum who joins. This is in addition to the 250k already given out, totaling 500K.

Anyone who takes up on the offer, post in this thread, so that I'll know and can keep track, and nudge for expediency if need be :)

You got some good trades.  However, you could build up your military a bit more.  Your alliance seems decently strong to help you against unprovoked attacks, but you also may have to defend yourself at times.

Currently I have a level 6 air force and a decently sized military and good taxes coming in. Once my final trade goes through I'll get 3 more bonus resources :).

From what I can see, the affects of your trades show the following:

Initial infrastructure cost:     -21%
Infrastructure upkeep:    -18%
Population increase:    16.5%
Citizen income increase:    $6.5
Population happiness increase:    12
Initial land cost:    -20%
Purchased land area increase:    25%
Natural growth increase:    0%
Technology cost decrease:    0%
Environment increase:    10%
Environment decrease:    0

Soldier increase:    35%
Soldier cost decrease:    $3
Soldier upkeep cost:    $-1
Tank cost decrease:    -13%
Tank upkeep cost:    -13%
Aircraft cost decrease:    -12%
Aircraft upkeep:    -20%
Aircraft limit increase:    0
Cruise missle cost decrease:    -20%
Cruise missle upkeep:    -20%
Nuke cost decrease:    -20%

I have been playing Cybernations for a year as of this sunday coming now.

I am in the North Atlantic Defense Coalition

Considering that Atlantis recruitment messages have already occured above, I need to give our speel.

The NADC has the strongest financial system in the game and offers large amounts of starter aid after your pass our entrance exam.

I'd advise you to check us out. We are also one of the most peaceful alliances and are the fifth strongest alliance by score, and the largest in the blue team.

1 to 3 million for a nation your size? You'll be able to double your country population with that much money.

I used to play Cybernations, but quit after my third nation didn't go as far as I would have liked.

During my tenure in the cybernations world, I served as Minister of Foreign Affairs in the GPA, was a member of the Legion, and even the NPO for a little while. I wonder what's been going on since that whole fan war.

I played it for a few months a year ago but if you a late starter in the game - other nations are so powerful that you stand no chance really. Good idea for a game but needs leveling out a bit even if there are leagues for equal nations. I was just attacked so much from nations that got so much aid from other very strong nations.

Good but bad at the same time

I don't really have much time to play NationStates, I started playing this game years ago and ended up being a big fish, but do I have the effort to do it all again in Cybernations? Nah, games are the best at the beginning and that chance in CN has long gone.
