for anyone else that watches football think there will be no stopping them pats
-
I'd rather get shot with projectile vomit than watch gridiron football. It doesn't deserve to take any sport's name.
Go Red Sox.
-
pats? what has that got to do with rugby? or Soccer? Or cricket? Or any game played in the civilised world?
-
To get back on track, the Pats can do it as long as Brady doesn't get hurt.

I have to agree.
-
Sports do suck.
-
What does this have to do with football?
-
I have to admit cricket is not that great a game.
"We know it's hard to hit that ball, here, try this oar instead."
-
Go Red Sox.
:wb:
-
baseball is boring as hell
btw i turned off the world series in favor of monday night football
-
I think the Pats can do it, but I don't think they will. They were set to smash the Eagles on Sunday, just like they smashed everybody else other than the Colts, but the Eagles almost had it. People are going to see that, and especially how it happened, and they'll be using that in the future. The Patriots will probably take the Super Bowl, but they'll lose at least once along the way.
Screw the Pats. Go Cleveland!
-
Football is "YEAH YOU CRASHED INTO THAT GUY WOOOO YOU'RE A REAL ATHLETE!!!!".
-
and standing in the middle of a field scratching yourself is
-
And when you get hit, faking that you're really badly hurt.
-
Have you ever tried to get a bunch of your friends together and play a game? It can be really good fun, just like the other kind of football.
In US football it's more than just crashing into the other guy. It's trying to imagine a way that you can trick the other team into not being able to crash into you, or to read the team's play so you can crash into them earlier. It's being able to read 5 to 30 yards of field for an open receiver, all the while trying to make sure the rushing defenders don't crash into you. It's making you wonder if they're going to take it on the ground this time, was that hand off just a play action? or which route are the receivers going to run.
But yes, watching large tank-like men crash into each other can be quite entertaining when it's a good crash.
-
Ah, so this thread wasn't about football after all, my bad.
-
well not what you would call football
-
I wonder if they want to play that in the snow and call it a winter sport, maybe one day, millenniums from today, it can be included in the winter Olympics. I really like the show, Torino was amasing, I don't know why but i like to watch ski jumping and biathlon. I even got the game lol.
-
Yes, getting hit with a baseball going 97 miles per hour does hurt.

You have to be a kind of good athlete to play US pro football. Kind of, not really though. You can also be a refrigerator.
-

Actually, it doesn't hurt that bad surprisingly.
-
Unless it hits you in the eye. I would think broken bats would hurt more, too.
-
Yes, a face shot would hurt alot.
-
the funny thing about football is if you get hit hard enough you dont remember getting or hitting the ground and when you get helped up you almost fall on your face......man that one hell of a hit
-
Go Red Sox.
:wb:
Seconded!
Also, I have gotten into American football a bit this year and I hope the Pats go all the way without a loss... it may not happen, but the fact that I care enough to want it to is shocking enough for my system to handle in one season.
-
Don't you mean, Red Sux?
-
Well here's the latest, the Pats next 4 teams are the Steelers, Jets, Dolphins and the Giants. Other than the Steelers, the other 3 shouldn't be a problem for the Pats.
-
Hmm, I wish there was a I don't give a shit option in the vote.
-
I think the Steelers have a chance to do it as close as the last two teams were to beating the Pats. Since they're leading the division though, I'd like to see the Steelers lose so the Browns can get bumped up. As long as the Dawgs don't play like they did in Arizona the other day they'll be fine....
-
More like Red Rox.
Sox Appeal.
President of the Red Sox Nation.
-
I think the post will be "Will the Pats Score Over 75 Point Against The Jets?"
-
well they did it

:congrats:

19-0, bank on it.
Pansies, football is the greatest sport in the history of mankind.
-
Whoawhoawhoa, lemme be the first to ask "What the fuck are you doing here?".

Who are you again? :P
-
Woah Garth, you are acting like I assaulted you.
-
Well, I'm just taken aback at your recent arrival. I thought you would have moved on to bigger and better things; though come to think of it, there aren't many "bigger and better" things in Florida.
-
So we're only one game away from a perfect season. Unlike the Dolphins of old, these Patriots play football in the era of the salary cap and a season that's longer by a few games. They've really come a long way.
But the New York Giants, underdogs by every meaning of the word, undefeated in their last 10 away games, will be playing away again in Glendale in Super Bowl 42. Go Giants!
-
I wouldn't think of them as under dogs I think they are even money not from vegas though
-
How could the Giants NOT be the underdogs? They're not coming into this game with a perfect season and nobody on their team has broken any touchdown records this season. Statistically, the Patriots should pound the Giants into 1972.
-
I'm not so sure about that, actually. This is going to be a grudge match; last time the Pats met the Giants they barely had the strategy and skill to win, and I think the Giants have gotten their strategy together a little more since then. They have a shot at it, I must say (despite rooting for the Patriots).
-
The Vegas line has the Giants as 12 point underdogs. I don't think the Giants are that bad, but can't stand rooting for either team(I'm a hard core Jets fan!!)

before week 17 i would have agreed but i think they might have the right wepons in the right places to make this one of the better Superbowls (and biggest upsets?) in a long time i am almost sure this will be a 1 possession game it will come down to 1 big play or 1 slip up. two team with the fire to win the pats want the ring and the perfect season and the g-men not wantin to be the foot note in history and to overcome the week 17 lose. its gonna be a great game
-
I'm not saying it's not going to be good. I'm not even saying the Giants don't have a chance. They were one of the closest teams to beating the Patriots all season. I'm just saying that if you compare the stats, the Giants are definitely underdogs by the very meaning of the word.
I would have rather seen the Browns at the Super Bowl, but I doubt they could have beaten the Pats in the playoffs anyway. And the Browns did play a pretty nasty game the last time they were in Glendale anyway.
This should be a good one though, and I'm very glad I don't work Sundays :)
-
i'll say
not to mention the fact that football is fun to play...
I played all through high school, but after i tore my ACL in my senior year, i haven't picked up a football again *sob, sniff*
I hate the Pats. I am a loyal Buffalo Bills fan and to root for any other team that plays in the AFC East is pure treason!!
Patriots stink!!

if you know anything about sports you should know how much stats mean in the game :)
(i can not wate till this game it is gonna be an amazing game)

I have the Patriots at -12.5 in several pools.
In reality, I have the Patriots at -21 for XLII. The Giants played their absolute best in Week 16 and the Patriots played...not so great and still managed to win the game. The Giants' secondary is far from impressive and on offense I doubt Brandon Jacobs gets past 80 yards.
Patriots 41-17.

this is pretty much how i feel about the game
-
The Patriots may have better stats but, the Giants want it more. I mean they haven't won a super bowl in a while and they want to kick the Patriots a**. They are getting too cocky and I hope the Giants sack stupid Tom Brady HARD.
-
The Giants played a bad game against the Pats on the last game of the season. The Giants have been playing much better during the playoffs to prove something to themselves. The Pats are a much better team overall.
The Pats over the giants between 3 and 7 points.
-
Are you kidding? That was about the best game the Giants could have. Brady was getting poor protection in the pocket and performed subpar compared to the rest of his season. The Pats' LB corps also didn't look themselves that day.
The Patriots want it more. They want to be the BEST ever.
The Patriots will win. /thread

pats for the superbowl.

18-1

:'(
On a lighter note, my boyfriend almost busted up his hand pounding angrily on his coffee table near/at the end of the game. We all told him he was going to hurt himself but he didn't listen. ^_^

Patriots: Pwned
