Title: Ask The Delegate
Post by: Sovereign Dixie on June 09, 2011, 05:38:40 AM
As is per my custom, here is a thread in which you can ask my anything about damn near anything.

The Region, the government, NS, me, myself, whatever. You can also feel free to complain here if me or my administration has done something not to your liking. Questions can be serious, or not. Whatever. Bring it.

What is your opinion on the Minister of Lulz's recent decision to begin rationing "that's what she said" jokes?

It cuts me to the core, sir. It cut's me to the fucking core.

How do you feel about me spamming a thread of such great import as this with such trivial questions?

It wouldn't be Taijitu if you didn't.

Are you ready to confirm or deny that is there going to be a Taijitu Fund Raising Car Wash?

What is your personal opinion on entertaining relations with the feederites?

Also

BEER?

Mr. Delegate, how do you respond to accusations that you are indeed a n00b?
Title: Re: Ask The Delegate

Do you think it reasonable to say that feeder residents should have no rights to their region?

If we can find adequate numbers of scantily clad attractive women, yes.

What is your personal opinion on entertaining relations with the feederites?

Also

BEER?

I'm quite amenable to it. Though I do not feel that one should speak of "Feeders" as though they are a collective. They are individual regions, ans ad such relations with them will be examined on a case by case basis.

Mr. Delegate, how do you respond to accusations that you are indeed a n00b?

YOU'RE UNFORTUNATELY!!!!!!!

Do you think it reasonable to say that feeder residents should have no rights to their region?

No, I do not think that at all. FREEDOM IS THE RIGHT OF ALL SENTIENT BEINGS!

Seriously, though, I view the feeders as no more or no less important than any other region. Pro feeder, Anti feeder, they're all fucking regions, just like ours. To imply the rights of their citizens should differ because of that would be rather silly.

so, uh, you're rebuilding?

Yep.

I did not answer BEER because I was, in fact, drinking beer. Since I was already in a state of Beverage Communion I felt no need to ask the beer what I already knew.

I only fail when I work hard and believe in myself.

Now that I am back in Taijitu do you think I should resume my duties and position as Minister of Apathy?

Actually, don't bother answering. I don't really care.

That's what she said.

Also: To clarify, there is no rationing of "That's what she said" jokes in effect.

So what sort of regional activities will the Delegate be attempting to implement to bring in new life/blood?
Title: Re: Ask The Delegate
Post by: Sovereign Dixie on June 20, 2011, 04:28:07 AM
Bringing in new talent is a two stage process.

Aggressive recruiting to get players - (with toaster2 up and more or less running, this will get exponentially easier)

and

A "Total Package" of sorts, with regards to the community and what we offer to keep them. Every citizen effects this part, but from the delegate end of things, I try to make myself as approachable and accessible as possible with the time that I've got. Once the crumbs are scraped out of toaster, we'll get to work on a revamped currency system which will also open up a few avenues. Community and atmosphere is our biggest asset in terms of "retention" however.

Also, good to see ya back Neil!
Title: Re: Ask The Delegate
Post by: Khem on June 20, 2011, 04:25:56 PM
Thanks buddy! Well with the emphasis for retention being based around the old reliable concepts of community and atmosphere may I recommend reviving the old position of Mama Khab and Allama my wifey. Having set and available people not only for greeting and integrating new players but also for fostering community near constantly. We need a Ministry of Community and some friendly people to run it.

Post by: Sovereign Dixie on June 21, 2011, 04:22:40 AM
I'm certainly in favor of that. It hadn't been neglected, nor forgotten, merely temporarily sacrificed due to staffing issues at the time. My cabinet ended up being a bit of a skeleton crew lol

Dammit. I miss Khab and Allama, both of 'em were sweet enough to give me diabeetus.

Anyways, you want the job? You're active, friendly (just don't get too friendly, we can't afford the settlements) and experienced.

Toaster worked until late yesterday. I will work on fixing it tonight.

I was very busy last night.

I'm not really an ideal candidate for any such position at least not being in charge. My time is very sporadically linked to the internet due to real world goals to be accomplished.

It might do her good to have this outlet again, though I suspect she will not be returning here. I'll see if my charm can't convince her of such via text.

Don't say "if Amy wants", don't we all want this region to feel a little bit more alive? At least just a bit...
Title: Re: Ask The Delegate

Aye, I would agree to that. the game is more alive than I thought it would be. So, it would not be impossible.

We just need someone to contribute and buy some stamps for recruitment telegrams, I believe. We also need someone to resurrect the founder.
Title: Re: Ask The Delegate
Post by: Sovereign Dixie on June 13, 2014, 05:23:41 PM
Stamps? What the actual fuck?

As far as the founder goes, that would have to be Gulliver or Elu, I don't have the pw anymore. Though, we could do fine w/o it honestly. More important is the ability to manage the bloody forums. Which, evidently, no one around seems to have lol

It's a new function to the game. (http://www.nationstates.net/page=faq#technical) You can purchase stamps to send massive amounts of telegrams to nations.

Ok, read the stamp thing. Doesn't seem like an issue, really. Seems like it only applies to mass TG's. Recruit the old fashioned way, and it won't be a problem.

Glad ya have admin. I don't recall if Founders were supposed to receive any particular masking, but can ya at least mask me as citizen?
Title: Re: Ask The Delegate
Post by: Funkadelia on June 13, 2014, 07:29:22 PM
I can. Amy will get it too.

Also, this way is a lot easier than the traditional way. There's a new way of doing recruitment telegrams that you have to do or you get in trouble, and I haven't done it in a long time so I forget how. I'm gonna go dig up the guide.
