Due to Article 6, section 2 of the Constitution of Taijitu, most of my choices for cabinet are forbidden from serving. That being said, I have two appointments to make pending a revised cabinet:
Gulliver - Chief Justice
Maha - Bitchin' Minister of Fuck Yeah
Boxxy - Empress of Taijitu
Due to said constitutional restrictions, I would like to nominate the following people as General Advisers to the Executive:
- Gulliver
- Eluvatar
- St Oz
- Gallipoli-China
That is all.
-
Is that a formal nomination of Gulliver to be an Associate Justice of Taijitu followed by, if successful, a nomination of Gulliver as Chief Justice?
-
Yes.
-
Can you fit me in for 10 o'clock.
*rim shot*

So weren't the elections and the in-statement meant to be followed by something at least along the lines of 'we're warming up to do sum push-upz which will warm us up to do some extensionz which then will allow us to start kickin ass'? Or is it all happening in the shadows and I didn't get the encrypted messages and the codes?
-
It's my fault that things are being slow. Myroria can't do very much before Toaster2 is up >_<

I think we have all played NS before with no Toaster and that is something we can still do, Elu. Or I think we should. Besides, recruiting may be well decisive but there are other things that can be done or at least commenced.
Thank you for the answer Myro but before we can start with lolz I think we should start securing the Taijitu public that can appreciate it. Otherwise I guess I am not needed and I am starting to wonder why was it that I was summoned.
-
Toaster2 is gathering data.
Our first priority is recruitment.
I am also proposing legislation PoD Gunner, which I really do suggest we pay some attention to. The Ministries Act in particular determines a great deal of policy.
-
This was not directed at you, I do not see the point in saying we are not doing pretty much anything because Toaster 2 is not ready or because you are proposing legislation PoD Gunner. I mean legislation. This is about why don't we do something before Toaster 2 is up and before you are done proposing legislation as in (I thought I wouldn't have to specifically nominate stuff we should be aware of) recruit manually, start doing something with the RMB, attract some Taijis to the forums, do some military game-play etc. It seems almost like me asking why we don't these things is bothering you. I ain't poking anybody's eyes out I am asking if this is how you envision things.
-
I'm with POD with this one.
-
With no visible results, it seems.
I hereby ask the Hon. Delegate to start spawning some activity directed but not limited at NS game-play and the re-growth of our region. The summer slump is the ideal time to take things slow and meticulously but this is a bit too slow for my taste. I am personally willing to put my effort and skills into starting to rebuild the Taiji Army and I think I can count on o-c's help with that, as well as any other regional activities. It has now been an entire month since your appointment of advisers and nothing has happened.
-
There can be no activity - no real activity - until Toaster2 is up and running. You are telling the government to begin reaching out to people on the region, but have you looked at the RMB? It is filled with puns and discussions about Disneyland. Those aren't the kind of people who will join this forum and stir up activity, unless that activity is in the "Count to 10,000" thread.
And, as Eluvatar and Gulliver have both stated numerous times, Toaster2 is not functional yet. If you think we should start recruiting by-hand, you're invited to. I'm not going to stop you, but I'm also not going to institutionalize a system which died years ago. I'm not making this decision alone, either; I have confided in all my advisers and they have expressed support for waiting until our recruitment system is operational. Those involved in Toaster2 have literally put hours into this system - I ask you do not dismiss their efforts because they have run into problems beyond their control.
As for the Taiji Army ... you are more than welcome to rebuild it from the soldiers you can get. As a member of the Progressive Party, though, I can assure you that I will not approve any invader acts by the army and as long as I am delegate it will not be the uncontrolled mess it was before the crash.
-
The translation of what you are saying in complicated phrases does not please me but to be honest I was not expecting otherwise. Just so you know, recruiting by hand is still widely used in NS and has not died by any mean. The fact that your limited game-play experience has not allowed you to see other regions at work at how they recruit is another matter. I will start a recruitment team and if nobody else cares to join me I will do it alone, I don't mind. I am not dismissing any efforts and I am most appreciative of those involved with Toaster 2. However since I suppose not all people in Taijitu atm are writing code-bits, the others could do it the old fashioned way. Nobody asked you to institutionalize anything, just to do something with the time that is going to waste until the new tool is up. Your motivation for not doing it is ridiculous.
What the Taiji Army is concerned, I plan to start gathering some troops and start training them. It is your business as a delegate to draft some guide-lines for it and nominate your temporary MoD and respective chain of command. I think however you should watch your mouth when speaking about the Taiji army of the past since I cannot remember you putting any effort into it. It will be up to you to do a lot better and knowing your military involvement in NS up to now I doubt you should be one to speak. I will keep you informed about my progress.
-
I ask that you do not patronize me. Gulliver, Eluvatar, and myself have been working constantly since the region's rebirth to improve it, not only by getting Toaster2 up and running but by improving the environment present for our new recruits. You say that I "do not need to institutionalize anything", but is that not what you came here to ask me to do? If you were aware for this entire discussion that you could recruit on your own, why didn't you? I'm sorry, but I must believe that you are trying to instigate something.
Is it not only the duty of myself and the Senate, but the duty of every Taijituan to improve their region? Why did you come here asking my clearance? If you came here looking for steps to be taken, I showed you the steps that were being taken and you disapproved of them, and then, rather than taking your own initiative, you accused me of being distant and delaying the process.
I invite all Taijituans to take their own steps to improve this region, because it is the responsibility of all citizens to improve their own situation. What I do not invite nor appreciate, though, are people interrupting a thread to start an argument. I invite anyone to criticize my choices, but I do not invite anyone to engage in pointless bickering.
It is every Taijituan's duty to rebuild this region, not the duty of a few committed individuals like Eluvatar, Gulliver, ofcrazed, and yourself.

"There can be no activity - no real activity - until Toaster2 is up and running."
I am in utter shock that this has been posted I can't be the only one that is extremely concerned about how much of this region is tied in with toaster. I know Taijitu has a long tie with these tools but the fact that our delegate can't be imaginative enough to imagine activity in NS without recruitment tools. What scares me even more that his advisers discouraged against normal recruitment.
You can attract people three ways in NS. 1) By setting an example of how you want your region to be, and when interested parties see what they like they join (That's how I joined the lexicon) 2) By hand TG 3) By Tools
The fact that none of these 3 conditions are being met (unless you love legislating and spamming daily polls) is pretty messed up.
-
It is true that there are other things that could be done. They are not easy.
Myroria is not to be expected to do that alone, however. A Delegate isn't supposed to be the guy who does everything but the guy who manages things such that it gets done.
Myroria could perhaps be more aggressive in seeking the aid of all active Taijituans, but I do not think it laziness to avoid annoying people.
-
Don't get me wrong, I'm not pointing my finger at Myro as the root of the issue, but he isn't helping. He has a lot of the power to appoint people to positions, so he can get people in the right roles, so the "only one man" defense is eggshell thin when you have a list of advisers AND the ability to appoint people (from what I understand, I had trouble finding the laws). To me, that entire staff is accountable.
A large part of leadership is vision, and when you start making statements like I quoted, it shows the complete lack of vision by Myro and staff. That is the problem to me. We don't deserve recruitment tools if we don't have the vision to play the game without them. Other wise we are actually just sucking nations away from regions with real vision.
I don't know what happened, but Taijitu has taken a sour turn for the worse from its founding. Maybe now that the new region smell has worn off, no one is excited about what can be anymore. Most of the active members seem to be in agreement with this path as well.

Due to the newly, er, smaller Senate I have two more appointments to make:
I would like to nominate Gallipoli-China as Associate Justice to the Court, and ofcrazed to serve as Minister of Regional Security.
I have other requests which have yet to be answered, but these two have been confirmed.
