Chancellor of Exchequer Appointment[/SIZE]

Newly Elected Prime Minister Aconderoga officially appointed Bootskitten to replace King Neuremburg I as the Chancellor of Exchequer of the bank. Bootskitten, is perhaps most famously known for his role in reviving the House of Commons before his retirement has graciously accepted to take on this new role among his other roles. The Prime Minister had privately asked Bootskitten to take on the position as he was at the time the Governor of the Bank filling in as the Chancellor.

Citizen honored[/SIZE] [/align]
In a short announcement, Lord High Chancellor Atlantis appointed Bootskitten, who had retired earlier in February from the House of Commons after his most successful term, with the count of Oldenburg and a seat in the House of Lords. “It is a deep honor and such a surprise to have received such a generous recognition from Lord Atlantis. I want to thank everyone for this it really means a lot to me” stated Lord Bootskitten. Other citizens expressed their congratulations to Lord Bootskitten.

Prime Minister Election [/SIZE] [/align]
In an unprecedented move, the Prime Minister position was created to help increase activity while His Majesty, Most Great Britannia is away and to help Lord High Chancellor Atlantis. Former citizen King Nuremburg I and Minister of Information Aconderoga both ran for the Prime Minister Position until King Nuremburg I dropped out. A vote of confidence was then held for Aconderoga with the majority approving of him. Aconderoga was then elected the Empires of Earth’s first Prime Minister. [align=center]

King, Lord Chancellor Inactive [/SIZE] [/align]
The King and his First Regent, Atlantis have been absent for the last few days. With the former being the most odd. The King had not made any announcement to the people before he feel ill in his Palace residence five days ago. The Lord High Chancellor, Atlantis T. II called a Leave of absence a few days before in order to concentrate on his education. While visiting the capital today Atlantis saw many citizens concerned about lack of any statements from the Palace on the election. After visiting the palace Atlantis assures the populace the King will be in a state of full recovery in a matter of days, however in the time being the Chancellor will conduct the elections until then and handle the matters of state. Atlantis talked to the King earlier today and he is celebrating his 78th birthday in private. The king has since made an announcement that he will only be able to check up once or twice a week, so he has left the region in be put in charge between Regent Atlantis and Prime Minister Aconderoga.

House of Commons Election[/SIZE] [/align]
On the twelfth of February, 2008, the Lord High Chancellor, Atlantis, who is filling in for His Majesty King Dylan, fired the starting gun of the House of Commons Election and opened up the threads where nations of the realm of Empires of Earth would announce their candidacy for a seat in His Majesty's House of Commons. Within twenty-four hours of the creation of the candidacy thread, five residents of the realm - Gustavus Adolphus Rex, Manic Om, New Belgium, North Imperia, and Neu Leverkusen - announced their candidacy (Minister of Information Aconderoga announced his candidacy on the eighteenth). At the moment, six of His Majesty's Imperial Subjects are running for a seat. Neu Leverkusen had since dropped out after he left the region. The Newest House of Common members are: North Imperia, Manic Om, New Belgium, Aconderoga and Gustavus Adolphus Rex. The newest members have their job cut out for them.
