In an unusual announcement, House of Commons speaker Bootskitten has announced that at the end of the present term for the House of Commons that he shall be stepping aside and retiring from the House of Commons. “I have always said to myself that I wanted to go out on top of my House of Commons career, which this as turned out to be my most successful term. Also I have been in the House of Commons for a little over a year now, I would like to see some different scenery than just the House of Commons.” Stated Bootskitten. Bootskitten stated as well that just because he is retiring from the House of Commons, doesn’t mean he is retiring from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In the wake of his announcement, other citizens of the Empire were in complete shock at the statement. One of the older members of the Empires of Earth, Sir Wennal, announced recently his resignation from all of his posts in the Empire, and that he is retiring from public life. Many citizens were heartbroken when they heard that announcement as Wennal was a wonderful and popular citizen of the Empire. Wennal cited real life issues as the basis of his retirement. This announcement prompted Minister of Foreign Affairs Bootskitten, to do something to honor Wennals time as an ambassador. “Wennal has always been involved in the Foreign Affairs department from the time he has been in the Empire, I felt that he should be awarded for his outstanding dedication and loyalty for supporting the empire.” Stated Bootskitten. Wennal was awarded the first ever Lifetime Ambassadorial Award, which included a medal and public statement from Bootskitten. Wennal said he was deeply honored to have received such an Award. Wennal says he shall still be around from time to time in the Empire.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Bootskitten recently stated that changes were in store for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. These changes, he said were to help organize the ambassadors and the department better. These changes will occur slowly over the next several months. The Ministry has been more active in the month of January in terms of welcoming back a couple regions which had their embassy closed. More embassies have been opened and a couple embassies have been turned into Museums.

In one of the most upsetting news in the Empires history, earlier this month the Ministry of Foreign Affairs received word that their former ally, The Land of King and Emperors was pronounced dead a couple weeks ago. “This was a very sad day for the Empires of Earth because of our good relations with them, and that we were ally’s with them. Their presence shall greatly be missed” States Bootskitten.
