Korinn and TGR Campaign thread
« on: October 17, 2007, 08:03:36 AM »
Since I suck at fancy speeches, I'm going to keep this short and simple and we can move on to the questions. First I'll tell you a bit about what I've done in Taijitu(for those who don't know).

I've been with Taijitu since the very beginning. I was a charter member and signed the original Constitution. I became a Senator in late February(I would've been one sooner, but a RL accident pulled me away). I've been very active since then.

I was made Deputy MoEA by PoD Gunner and later made full MoEA by Sovereign Dixie. As Deputy MoEA I started to bring External Affairs back from the dead. Alot of the Ambassadors had gone inactive. When I became full Minister, I continued to rebuild it. I am proud to say that the current Ambassadors do a fantastic job. I plan to finish the streamlining of it before the end of this term.

As a Senator I have been an active voter and I have even proposed an amendment. While I'm not extremely active in the discussion part, I will speak up if I feel strongly about something.

I'm also a very active member of the community. I know alot of people say posting doesn't really matter, but I feel our community is what appeals to people. Being active in the community gets you in tune with the people and I feel I'm fairly well known. Plus I feel I know alot about many of you.

I feel being Delegate is the next step I can take to better Taijitu. We are a great region and I want to see us get even better. If elected I will do my best to give the people what they want. Thank you for hearing me and I hope you will vote for me.

Taijitu Forever!  :drunks:

Lovely to see you running, darling; it's clear you wish for the best for our region.  I wish you the best of luck.  :)  Now, that being said, on with the questions!

If elected, do you feel your administration will be able to handle the challenges of working with and improving relations between the seemingly increasingly disparate branches of Taijitu's government?  Do you have any particular thoughts or opinions to express on this issue, especially in regards to the balance of power?

Along those lines, do you feel the fairly recent tensions between elements of our Senate and Executive have formed as part of a naturally evolved problem or one that was "forced" or came into play artificially?  In other words, will you actually need to make conscious policy decisions to resolve the issue or will it fade with time and, perhaps, a fresh face in the Delegacy?

I think we are more than capable of working and improving relations between the branches. With a little time, some open discussions, and some compromises the different branches can work together for a better Taijitu. In regards to the balance of power, our Senate does hold more power. We are still young though. With some proper legislation, we could put checks in place to make the power more balanced.

To be perfectly honest, all of them. I believe certain issues were a natural occurrence, based on how we run our Government. I also feel certain other issues were "forced" to come to "center stage".  I think many of the issues have resolved themselves already, but I believe alot of it stems from the imbalance in power. Once checks are put in place I think alot of the problems would be resolved. I think it's more that the branches need better communication between each other. If we can all just sit down and have a peaceful discussion, all the problems can be resolved.

Thank you for your questions. If you have anymore, feel free to ask. Next?

I'm curious what particular sort of checks you would attempt to have put in place.  Would you care to elaborate?

Also, what of the rumors that you plan to bribe the Senate with cookies?  Vicious lies or unveiled truth?  Je t'accuse!  :trout:

While I don't personally have any in mind right now, I think the Legislative and Executive branches need to sit down and discuss  the issue. I'm sure some compromises could be made.

How will you organize your cabinet? As in what aspects of each ministry will you try to accent?

if there was  a bear in front of you, a crocodile behind you and a sniper on a nearby ledge.... what should you do?

what is your stance on the walking dead?

think back to the case of "the cookie thief". why was no one apprehended in this offense?

do you see the fact that no one was punished as a sign of weakness?

of what value would you be as delegate?

if you had to choose one of your opponents to be the eternal delegate, who would you choose?

who do you like least in taijitu?

what is your stance on the govindia trial?

do you know that we are going for the same girl?

did you know that i will win in that front?

why is it that i am going to win?

what will you do if elected to improve the region?

any ideas as to some laws you would like to see passed?

any ideas for a restructuring of the ministries?

I want my Cabinet to be a tighter knit group. I'd like there to be actual discussions between the Ministries on how we can improve the way we do things.  As to your second question, could you clarify? I don't quite know what you mean.

Uhhhh, tuck my head between my legs and kiss my ass goodbye. :-P

Quote from: Wonderful Neil!
what is your stance on the walking dead?

I say we give them cars. Nobody should have to walk.

Quote from: Wonderful Neil!

Ahhh, yes I remember that well. Unfortunately, all the evidence was eaten. So, we couldn't build a case against anyone.

Quote from: Wonderful Neil!
do you see the fact that no one was punished as a sign of weakness?

Well, no because he/she was a very crafty thief. A very worthy foe.

Quote from: Wonderful Neil!
what value would you be as delegate?

Well I'd make the spot seem a whole lot sexier! O:-) Seriously though, I feel I am honest, fair, and willing to listen to anyone if they have a problem.

Quote from: Wonderful Neil!

Soly, because he got da mad skillz on da mic. :-P

Quote from: Wonderful Neil!
who do you like least in taijitu?

I couldn't say, because I like everyone in Taijitu. O:-)

Quote from: Wonderful Neil!
what is your stance on the govindia trial?

Well, I have always believed in innocent until proven guilty, based on prior knowledge of and experiences I know about involving him I'd don't doubt he is a threat. I will however give the benefit of the doubt to him. I believe in fairness.

Quote from: Wonderful Neil!
do you know that we are going for the same girl?

I am quite aware of this.

Quote from: Wonderful Neil!
did you know that i will win in that front?

Oh, will you now? Well, let the game begin. :-P

Quote from: Wonderful Neil!
why is it that i am going to win?

While I don't believe you will, but if you do it'll be through incredible charm and dashing good looks.

Quote from: Wonderful Neil!
what will you do if elected to improve the region?

I'd really love to have some cross regional things happen and will try to have this happen. I'll also be trying to see if we can't end alot of the recent infighting. This region has always been known for it's friendliness. All the fighting has made alot of us forget that. It'll be one of my goals to get that back.

Quote from: Wonderful Neil!
any ideas as to some laws you would like to see passed?

I don't have any in particular, but I would love to see the power become more balanced between the branches.

Quote from: Wonderful Neil!
any ideas for a restructuring of the ministries?

I do actually. I'd like to have recruiting be moved to Internal Affairs, mostly to give MoIA more to do. Alot of people would say "why not combine them into one ministry". Well to be honest MoC has alot more duties than it seems. Other than that, I would like to see more communication between the ministries.

Thank you both for your questions, I hope they were answered to your satisfaction. Next?

Why didn't you ask me to be your vice?

are you aware that our sexyness combined would have murdered any chance of opposition?

think we could share her and our charm and dashing good looks?

am i joking?

Well, do you really think Taijitu could handle that much sexy all at once? ;)

Quote from: Wonderful Neil!

Taijitu isn't ready for that amount of sexy, but there's always next term.

Hmmm, an interesting proposal. We shall see.

I do not understand this debate, since the region has had ultimate sexiness for the past few weeks. Perhaps people's senses are overloaded by the sophisticated eroticism that I exude?

I would agree. Flem's sexiness is so overwhelming, that I feel the need to wear oversized pants whenever I go out.

If elected Delegate, what do you believe will be the greatest challenge for you to overcome, and how will you overcome it?
