i am reminded yet again that the princess bride is my favorite romance ever.

*doesn't understand why everyone likes that film so much*
Probably an unpopular opinion, but I just don't think it's that good. I watched it for the first time a few months ago, after many attempts by the internet to convince me to do so, but I just don't see what's so great about it. It's just...not good. I don't know why anyone would think it is. What do you people see in it?

It's hilarious, charming, and a whole lot of fun! It isn't and was never supposed to be some profound film, it simply has all the ingredients of a genuine, enjoyable movie.

Uh-huh. Well, you're entitled to your wrong opinions.

Scaling the Cliffs of Insanity, Battling Rodents of Unusual Size, Facing torture in the Pit of Despair. - True love has never been a snap.
How can you not be irresistibly attracted to that?

My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die.

My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die.
My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die.
The Princess Bride is AWESOME...and the fact that you don't like it is inconceivable!

That specific quote irks me as well. I mean, a good film quote is the kind of thing you can bring into everyday conversation in a relevant and amusing manner. But "my name is Inigo Montoya, you killed my father, etc" is always going to sound strange out of context. So why does everyone insist on saying it all the freakin' time?
And the whole inconceivable thing? Is that supposed to be funny, or what? And I'm pretty sure it does mean what he thinks it means.
