There can be only one.
I vote Seinfeld. Best comedy show ever, IMO.

OMG Boths shows are utter piles of shit.
Family Guy FTW baby!
-
Never really cared for Seinfeld myself. Venture Bros. was nice.
-
Seinfeld, without question. Family Guy is good the first 300 times you hear its jokes.
-
Unlike Seinfeld, which isn't even funny the first time.
-
Yes, I suppose not all comedy shows can exceed the hilarity of a fat man and his talking dog.
Though I suppose I'm being mean comparing Family Guy to Friends. It's like comparing...Bara's grammar to Delfos'. Delfos' is better, but neither is the kind of grammar I'd trust in my English Honors final. Family Guy is good for a laugh, as opposed to Friends, which is good for skipping over.

agreed.

Venture Bros. would beat the hell out of any other show. Not only do you have Brock Samson, but the combined forces of David Bowie, Iggy Pop and Klaus Nomi. No one can defeat that.
-
I liked Seinfeld quite a bit when it was still running, though I concur that Venture Bros. is superior.
-
For some reason, I was thinking a literal battle. Which you have to admit would be interesting. Still, Venture Bros. wins out by a long shot, though I also don't hate Seinfeld.
-
I don't know what we're talking about, it looks like a critique! Well, Seinfeld's people are too realistic for TV, I mean cmon fat short man and tall gangly guy with bad hair? REALISM ISN'T FOR TV, didn't you watch survivor and learn??? Then again, all the characters on friends keep having sex with and sleeping with the people within their small circle of friends. It's like a MTV reality show, only less high school-ish more married/whipped.

Your avatar calls to mind "Futurama". Now there's another show I appreciate.
-
i have watched Futurama a few times.
-
Futurama. Futurama. Futurama. The Office. Seinfeld.
-
I suppose Dead Like Me and Pushing Daisies aren't traditional comedies, but they're both hilarious.
-
I like the utter stupidity of the Simpson's every once in a while.

Love both of these shows.

There are two of us heathen's then...I'm with ya, SD. Seinfeld just isn't that funny.

Well speaking seriously for a moment (but only a moment damnit!), I respectfully disagree. The show was not only hilarious, IMO, it also revolutionized sitcoms as we know them.
Ok, serious moment over.

Admittedly, I did not watch Seinfeld in its prime, but I have seen it in syndication. As far as I know, most sitcoms still try to have a...oh, I don't know...plot/season arc.
-
I suppose it's all a matter of preference, really. There are those who enjoy slice-of-life style stories and those who can't stop yearning for an overall plot to tie everything together. Personally, I think Seinfeld was brilliant, but I also like to read things like Yotuba&! so you can see where my tastes lie.

Garth Marenghi's Darkplace
hands down.
-
YES.

Seinfeld is good. Not the person, the show.
