Title: A Test of Endurance
Post by: Annex on January 28, 2008, 08:11:36 PM
See how far you can get watching Transmorphers, available here, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UCRGqgSE4kc (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UCRGqgSE4kc).

My record: 4 minutes.

86:29 minutes (i.e. the whole movie).

Seriously, why all the hating? Is it just the shoddy CGI? Because that's pretty much the only thing wrong with it, and even that is understandable.

Considering that they had no skill whatsoever?

Saw it through, just for the pretty girls. Hurt, though, whenever I actually paid attention to the acting, script, directing, editing, filming, special effects, catering - basically everything in the movie.

It's amazing how they managed to cram so many cliches from every other apocalyptic science fiction movie ever made into the first five minutes (all I've watched so far.)  The horrible stilted acting and stupid dialogue, and especially the silly effects, remind me of those old FMV games that seemed to be everywhere back in the early nineties when CD-ROMs were relatively new technology.

Well, this movie was clearly made quickly and cheaply to cash in on the success of Transformers. All I'm saying is that it could have been much worse. It's not a movie I would pay to see, but I don't think it's as awful as everyone claims.

If you watched it, and didn't like it, I can accept that, but it annoys me that people are judging this entire film based on the first five minutes. Looking at the comments on YouTube, it looks like most people stopped watching after the first robot came on screen.
