Planetary Annihilation

I've obtained access to the game (it describes itself as "in Gamma") and while it is unfinished, it definitely lives up to the promise in this trailer. It's pretty fast-paced, and I think I'm playing too risk-aversely (too attached to my stuff which I really should treat as more expendable).

I've gotten my space base hit with a planetoid both times I've played the full game (as opposed to the campaign with limited tech) against AIs :D Some day I will return the favor!!

I've looked at this game a bit. Seems to pricey though for an unfinished game. Hell, at what.. 49.95? it's pricier than a good many finished games on steam. I don't like paying to be a beta tester.

But, when its finished, and cheaper. I may pick it up.

Yeah part of me felt a bit guilty at spending so much on a game. Maybe I'll donate some more to Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders) to feel better about it >_>

I'm so cheap I just quoted SD. I agree with what SD said, too pricey for unfinished and not much to promise on graphics.

This charge-extra-for-beta-access model is starting to become popular. Software is such a strange product.

It makes sense from an economic analysis of monopoly: price discrimination between people who are willing to pay different prices means more money is paid to the firm.
