The Land of Puppy Sized Elephants Embassy Request
« on: September 22, 2015, 04:03:06 PM »
Aaron/Nerdfighteria Island from The Land of Puppy Sized Elephants has placed a formal request for an exchange of embassies between their region and Taijitu. He states:

Hey guys,
I'm Nerdfighteria Island, Founder of The Land of Puppy Sized Elephants and I would like to suggest you accept my embassy request. The Land of Puppy Sized Elephants is a Nerdfighter region in nationstates, run by and for Nerdfighters. I'd love to affiliate my region with yours to expand the reach of The Land of Puppy Sized Elephants, and hopefully attract more people. (I don't want to steal your members, but I would like to perhaps like to acquire puppet nations at the very least...). Anyway we just want to have more embassies, and considering your Nerdfightery-ness we decided this was a good region to target.

Region Homepage

DFTBA, Aaron

What do you guys think?

Their regional animal is cute, but not cute enough. But if it were elephant-sized puppies...

You have a point there, Wast.

I'd like to say that...they seem to work well with their tiny numbers. We ought to congratulate them and say we're open to renegotiate embassy exchange once they get larger.

We're getting a regular embassy requests from tiny regions, maybe we should host or help organize a world fair of small regions?

I really like that idea! It could help them grow by drawing more attention to them, plus: fun!  ;D

Good to know. We gotta mature this idea but for this to ever have any meaning we ought to:
- Reconnect to all small regions that have contacted us since the revolution (can't be that many) that we have denied for the reason of being too small to figure out if they are still active and if they are open to that idea;
- Pitch the idea to a number of key active small regions.
- Organize and format - 1 featured region per day? podcast/chat/AwesomeSauce'sSkypeCalls? -
- Promotion - we also have large allies they may be willing to promote this event as well.
- Gracious Hosts, Have an active group of taiji citizens who are willing to entertain this event
- Statistics, Gather opinions during and after the events through our beloved daily polls
- Aftermath control, keep gathering information on the impact of our event periodically.

All good stuff, Delfos. I'll come back to that tomorrow when I'm online again.

But for now, enjoy some excerpts from The Land of Puppy Sized Elephants' RMB (posted about 9 days ago):

Quote
Joolsland: "Yeah. There's a few of us here. Why'd you leave so suddenly?"

Grecorome: "Because I thought I could get more people into this region from one of the bigger regions. Sound like a good Idea?"

Joolsland: "That'd be brilliant if you could. I speak on behalf of our government assuming they would also agree..."

Nerdfighteria Island: "Yes. That would be awesome, I've replied to your telegram."

As I've not noticed any posts on our RMB recruiting for The Land of Puppy Sized Elephants, I cannot assert that they are trying to poach nations from us. This doesn't rule out Grecorome from TGing our users asking them to join up, however.

Maybe I'm being paranoid. Maybe this is actually shady as fuck. Maybe it doesn't matter either way because no nations seem to have left us for them other than Grecorome himself bouncing back and forth a couple of times.

Thoughts, anyone?

There's nothing to worry about even if that's their clear intention. It's more likely that we poach from them tbh, specially with this small regions world fair event.

Really, you think people would leave Taijitu for that region, and if they did, what would we lose? We lose someone that trades our awesome region to a tiny weird but interesting project that might not go anywhere or be dead in a week? And so what? Aren't people free to do that anyway? There's no real danger or damage whichever way, we'll just have to appeal to our own members as well, maybe we'll do the Kitten sized Giraffes and outbid in cuteness.

CUUUUUUUUUUUUTE!

If you think I believe that, you definitely didn't read my post. ^____^

Alright, I'll let them know we aren't going to exchange embassies just yet because of their deplorable lack of kitten-sized giraffes.
