Temporary Ecclesia Shutdown
« on: November 26, 2015, 06:27:46 PM »
Considering all the debates and divisions perhaps we should all informally agree to relax for this Thanksgiving weekend and not post in the Ecclesia until Monday. Perhaps we should also consider having a system for Ecclesia holidays/downtime one weekend every month and around Christmas, Easter, etc.

Or maybe we'd have a month of heated discussions and another month of votes and events where we would be prohibited to discuss the "politics" and would have to drink and be happy all the time. DRUGS ARE FREE!

Not a bad idea. During the holidays, when people are busy, it would be best to not have the Ecclesia running so that everyone can have time to participate.

There are people that are less busy at holydays.

Nah, all of the time would be spent bitching about what drinks to have.

True. I suppose there isn't a way to schedule recesses convenient for everyone.

Well I meant normal people, I'm sure most of us fall into medically insane people.

Maybe we need quotas. This way people would have to use their time in a smart manner, instead of btching they'd probably prefer to discuss the issues at hand. You know, it's a rule in democracy everyone speaks and people don't speak louder or more time than others...oh yeah you guys have filly-busting, it sounds terrible. Let's make quotas on posts inside Ecclesia, freedom of speech but in a civil democratic manner.

OK how about 1 issue per week? Citizens can propose an issue to be discussed and voted so it composed a  list of issues and every week we only discuss 1 and vote on it.

I'd personally say that we could take a break for no more than one day at a time.  New Year's, Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc.  Not for the whole week, though.

^what Khem said.

I demand the Ecclesia be suspended for all eight days of Chanukah, the Jewish High Holidays of Yom Kippur and Rosh Hashana, and Purim.

Also Canadian Thanksgiving.

I think delaying votes if we expect a large number of members to be absent during the voting period may be prudent, but I'm not so sure about a complete shut down.

You can always try quotas/quorum, How many citizens do we have? How many citizens voted on the last 3 votes? They're probably more than 10%, is it a third?
