Motion to alphabetize the Embassies
« on: October 01, 2015, 12:04:28 AM »
We proposed this already. Can we please do it?

And we should totally put the TNP embassy at the bottom anyway. :keke:

Edit: Awaiting St Oz's reply. ;D

You know my opinion, cut the gas line and stick a magazine in a toaster at the TNP embassy.

When I pestered Osiris everyone laughed nobody cared, when we pestered TEP about tomatoes everyone laughed nobody cared, but then try pestering TNP and people will go sour.

"LOOK AT THE GREAT THINGS TNP DOES, IT'S AT NOT FAULT FOR OTHER THINGS IT'S JUST A LARGE REGION"

"THAT'S NOT TRUE YOU'RE JUST A JERK"

"OMG STOP SNIPING PEOPLE FOR DIFFERENT OPINIONS"

"THEY'RE LARGE FOR A REASON AND YOU'RE JUST SAD"

"THEY'RE THE LARGEST DEMOCRACY"

Why is TNP so infallible? It's demonstrated that the people there are racist, suppresses debate through restrictive codes and procedure, and favors only friends of the elite class of admins and moderators. It is also a great source of political leverage against citizens voting here. Why do we call them allies? As a gameplay ally, they're not much either. The times when I've participated in jumps the most absent-minded, untrained, and stupid jumpers were those from TNP.

Let us make a separate vote to sever ties with TNP, so that they can canvas the pits of NS for votes there instead of an alphabetizing vote.

When Taijitu had 70 nations in it for two years TNP was the only one of our allies that didn't cut relations with us for having died. When we voted earlier this year on renewing our long alliance with TNP, TNPers approved their end of it nearly unanimously. The discussion was mostly limited to "Taijitu is great". For the most part, they find us to be long-term, valuable allies with an exciting form of government and a fun theme that doesn't take itself too seriously.

After having been in TNP a year, I climbed up from Deputy Minister to Vice Delegate. People were nothing if not open and accepting of newcomers like myself, something Taijitu could honestly learn a lot about. Their debates on changes are robust, collaborative, and accepting of new ideas. If anything I have been more impressed with TNP recently than with the cynical, hateful, bitter rhetoric I see spit here on a regular basis. I will go on their forum and see people collaborating on ideas and legislation. I see RPers genuinely interested in improving themselves and their writing, and I see a social section that is filled with debate and good humor.

I come to this forum and see people bitterly criticizing each other and their ideas, cursing everyone who doesn't have the same interests in this game as they do, and motioning to cut relations with regions for no reason other than that they're different from ourselves.

I will vote against any motion to unilaterally cut ties with TNP. I can guarantee that when we are in need of it, TNP will be there as it has been for the past seven years of our existence. Would we do the same for our allies?

Hey, I didn't propose to cut ties with them, just move their embassy to the bottom.

To me that just seems petty. Can't you express your distaste in other ways? Admittedly, I'm mostly oblivious to happenings in other regions, so my opinion is not very informed.

tbh this is long overdue. 4 months ago there was a motion and it was approved:
http://forum.taijitu.org/proposals-and-discussions/motion-to-alphabetize-forum-embassies/

it was voted and the results were:
8 Yay
6 Nay
2 Abstain
http://forum.taijitu.org/legislative-and-treaty-votes/motion-to-alphabetize-forum-embassies-9433/

Do we want to vote again or isn't it ridiculous enough we had to vote to alphabetize embassies? That it was approved and never alphabetized?

Wait, aren't the embassies already alphabetized? Or did someone just rearrange them?

I really only proposed that for Oz. I don't care at all. I have nothing against TNP.

Oh, then I never needed to do this.

Anyway, double post!
