Title: OOC: King in the Docket
Post by: Myroria on July 22, 2016, 02:19:06 PM
Hey everyone. I've been able to sort of juggle RPing multiple nations in TNP for a while, so I thought I'd try it here. This is an RP that didn't really get any attention over there but I think you guys might enjoy it more anyway.

Ilamzat is a nation emerging from a civil war that lasted almost a decade. A leftist coalition comprising what we would call IRL Marxist-Leninists (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marxism%E2%80%93Leninism), syndicalists (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Syndicalism)/left-communists (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Left_communism), and democratic socialists (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Democratic_socialism) ousted the nation's former dictator. Like any government involving Leninists, some shenanigans will be happening that might darken the bright light of this revolution.

I know this is out of the ordinary for Taijitu RP, but I'd like to keep where I'm going with this a surprise. If you have any questions about Ilamzat, its government, or its capital city of Qeshir, ask away. I'd like to keep the plot mostly spoiler-free at this point though  :-P

To what extent would you like or enjoy collaboration?

Some possibilities off the top of my head:

- some of us can write brief articles or w/e reflecting our press's perspective of events in Ilamzat
- if there's a niche in the story for foreign intervention, some of our more capitalist nations could contribute to that (i.e. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allied_intervention_in_the_Russian_Civil_War )
- could have somebody like John Reed from one of our countries writing (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ten_Days_That_Shook_the_World) as an eyewitness

Such bits need not be in the same topic.

Ideally I would like the main plot to revolve around media covering the trial; Feridoun will probably be given an opportunity to speak to the assembled reporters, and then a government official will address them as well; then the main part of the story will begin. I would not at all be opposed to subplots within KitD, or separate threads about the revolution, and I would gladly cooperate with information about Ilamzat, its government, the causes for popular anger, etc.
