White Hearts Bill Enters Legislature

A bill proposed by Prime Minister Osafune III has entered the houses of the legislature today. The bill prevents the White Hearts organization from operating and/or recruiting from inside Collosea.

White Hearts is an up and coming international relief organization. The main grievance the government has with it, is it's so called "meddling" in a countries affairs in war time. White Hearts has said it would enter war torn areas to assist both combatants and civilians alike. Osafune III and Miltiades IX sees the possible evacuation of injured enemies in a situation involving asymmetrical warfare against insurgents as harmful to any war effort as it removes a possible source of intelligence.

The punishments as defined in the bill would include a fine of atleast 1,000H and deportation (assuming the person in question is not a Collosean citizen).

Separately, the administration is looking into working with and assisting the International Humanitarian Aid Organization (IHAO), which they say is far less intrusive than the White Hearts.

Collosean National Highway System to Expand

Minster of Commerce Aegospotami XIII announced plans to expand the Collosean National Highway System to include more of the country. The rail road system is to be expanded as well.  There are multiple reason for the expansions. If these systems included more of the country, inter-provencial travel would increase potentially raising the economy as the introduction of the rail road did during the industrial revolution. With the WORD plan in motion, the rail road system needs drastic upgrading for raw resources and equipment parts to easily travel between various destinations across the country.

Areas planned for the expansion include southwest Pheidias, the eastern coasts of Lysander, Scythia, and Boetia, Salamis via a long underwater tunnel, and around the edge of Krit.

Leonidas RD Industries

The War Ministry's new CAF Weapons Research and Defense Agency, established earlier in the year to begin Collosea's own weapons developement program, has founded the Leonidas RD Industries (LRDI). The coporation, named after the curent king Leonidas LXIII, was established to research, develop, and ultimately produce equipment for the Collosean Armed Forces

LRDI as it is now is relatively small, but as time passes the War Ministry plans to add branches for each major branch of the CAF. Until LRDI has experience in the field, company officials have states that they plan on developing variants to equipment already in use.

The War Ministry and LRDI will begin work on creating three variants of the NHI NH90 TTT (Tactical Troop Transport) helicopters. Anti-submarine warfare, anti-surface unit warfare, and a search and rescue are variants intended for production. They are intended for the navy, army, and paramilitaries, respectively.

No word has been given from the War Ministry on when they would hope such variants would be developed and in production.

Update from the War Ministry

The War Ministry has released a press statement on recent developments in Leonidas RD Industries.

LRDI has established three branches, each designed for developing specific types of weaponry. They are the Leonidas Aerospace, Nautical, and Mech Industries.

Just out of Leonidas Aerospace Industries (LAI) are two of the three proposed variants to the NHI NH90 helicopters.. The new helicopter is the LAI NH100. SAR and ASuW variants are currently in production. 50 ASuW variants are expected to be produced for the Army, while a total of 100 SAR variants are expected to be produced for both the Paramilitaries and the Air Force (for combat search and rescue missions).

Development of an ASW variant was delayed and has only just begun. The delay was credited to a lack of war ships in the Navy capable of carrying them. Leonidas Nautical Industries (LNI) has begun development of a new class of frigate based upon the F125 design.
