Peacekeeping Mission to Gelibolu
« on: January 07, 2008, 12:41:28 AM »
Quote
It is the goal of this organization to serve as a platform to dissolve conflicts in a civilized manner without resorting to agression.

It is the goal of this organization to serve as a plattform to assist nations in conflict to find peaceful solutions and assist them in ending those conflicts.

These are two passages from the IPO defination paper. The new government in Canada believes that we should take more action in making peace then what we are doing. We have drifted away from the meaning of these passages and the reason we were created. We were created to bring peace to the world, and yet, we have only tried on the South Continent. But it is time, we head to Eastia. Asking for the independence of Gelibolu is a little premature, but we can still and we should send in peacekeepers to protect those who do not need to be involved in this conflict. Also, IPO should be negotiating with the Devat government and the Xyraeli government and to find a peaceful way to end this horrible conflict. But first we should send in peacekeepers to show the world and Xyraeli that we really do want peace in that region. The Canadian government will be more then happy to contribute troops to this peacekeeping mission as well as a commander.

True but the Peace Keeping IPO bureau doesn't want to do anything before the diplomatic corp bring up reports from the region.

ooc: Hunting for truth is one of the keys, but GC doens't want to RP while Xyrael is gone, truth is, I know a deadly secret about Xyrael...GC could go on without him.

ooc: I'll finish the RP with G-C concerning the status of his nation, either hasten it or take a different route, then decide whether or not I wish to RP with Xyrael. The problem fundamentally lies with the core of the nation, I no longer really have the will to play a super power. I love the underdog. Should I decide to start a different nation, expect to see fireworks and other things that go thud in the night.

ic:
Any unauthorized man bearing arms within Xyraeli lands will be subject to Xyraeli laws, and as such would be deemed a criminal subject to ten years imprisonment and $55,000 fine. All arms not authorized by the government will be confiscated and ineligible for return. Should these arms be used against government forces, lethal force will be used as necessary.

As far as the Illuminate is concerned, this situation is a problem which lies within the flawed mentality of the marxist rebels within Gelibolu. The very ideology they carry has no regard for the status of a nation, nor the authority of its government. Whether free or not, they will continue to carry their crimson flag on a crusade to liberate the people of nations throughout the world. The IPO should thank the efforts of Illuminate troops at preventing this, but instead the IPO seeks to give every murderous villain their chance to destroy the world in the name of "self-determination".

ooc2: if you do want to go on with the peacekeeping mission via troops, expect violence.

ooc: Good to see you back, Xyrael.  :) Expect violence?! Ha, if violence is the path you choose, then you will see Canadian peacekeepers turn into gurellias fighting alongside the rebels rea fast. And even if the IPO says no to sending in peacekeepers, then I will send in my own.  O:-)

ic: The Canadian government has no problem with you fighting the rebels. It is the civilian population that we worry about. I believe that the IPO or at least the Canadian government come in to make sure civilians are treated with respect from both sides. We are not asking you to give into the demands of the Devat government, we are just asking for a peaceful conclusion. And there is no need to make threats. If you are so scared of peacekeepers, then perhaps you have been in Gelibou for too long.

ooc: you're free to do it, but not representing IPO, unless you make a vote about it and it passes. (It's a tip)
If it passes, the IPO is forced to...suggest sending IPOPk, and it will be official.

The Collosean Federation will NOT send peacekeepers to Gelibolu unless it serves to put down the rebellion and ensure Xyraeli sovereignty over their territory. But I think Xyrael is more than capable of doing that on their own.

The Xyraeli are capable of resolving this, I'm disappointed about the violence, the promise of aggression and the lack of diplomatic strenght or achievements to resolve the conflict. We don't know anything about our observers, and the reports haven't came in.

The Gelibolu have not taken steps to allow Xyraeli delegates to discuss peace with the Gelibolu command, and have yet to send an envoy to a Xyraeli embassy, and the Illuminate will not lower itself to begging terrorists to come to a peace table. As such, the opportunity to create a peaceful resolution has not become available to the Illuminate. The Illuminate apologizes for being so swift to threaten violence, but all the Illuminate sees is an idealistic rhetoric used by a hegemonic alliance to create peace throughout the world as they would have it within their own nations. The Illuminate is not Canada, nor does it wish to be, for it has seen the "peace" Canada's allies brought to Dysanii. It has been proven that peacekeeping forces which retain allegiance to their nation are merely a tool of that nation, and not servants of the benevolent will of the IPO. For the Illuminate to even consider allowing peacekeepers, a restructuring of the IPO Peacekeeping Forces is needed, with a defined autonomous command structure that has no affiliation beyond nationality to a member nation. Beyond commiting troops, a member nation should have no decision as to where their soldiers are allocated or for what purpose. (My request: RP your forces, but under the command of the administrator of the IPO. You follow his orders, deploy where necessary, and give yourself a single person who will take the credit for success and error. Otherwise, it's just a military campaign with a new flag)

We understand the reasons and problems your "Illuminate" is facing. We're just not sure if your answers were the best. The IPO haven't yet decided any action against your nation, nor it would be possible under such Organization that promotes peace. We were just waiting for those bloody reports, but seems members urge to know what's the general motion. As bastard administrator I shall try my best to put it on the table, and you will be the first to know, you will be there.
