Title: Better Call Saul
Post by: Myroria on April 12, 2015, 01:22:11 AM
Anyone besides Delfos and I watching this show? It just wrapped up its first season.

All in all I think it's a pretty great show - probably the best on TV. Shot beautifully, with a compelling storyline and likable characters, I fell in love with it immediately. Some issues I have with it though are its meandering pace and unclear story arc. Often the show will seem to start a storyline, only to abandon it an episode or two later. It's often unclear exactly what motivates each character - especially the revelation from Jimmy in the finale.

So, what's Taijitu's thoughts? Good? Bad? Better than Breaking Bad?

We watch it, and love it.  I was avoiding this thread though, b/c we were behind on the DVR.  Now that we watched the finale...

***MINOR SPOILERS***

I don't think it's better than Breaking Bad (or even as good...yet), but it's still head and shoulders above most.  I think it actually suffers a little bit without having someone else (like Jesse with Walt) who has just as much riding on Saul as he does.  Yah, his brother - what a performance when he confesses to Saul, amirite - is clearly not tied to Saul, Kim wants to see him do well, but she's got her own thing going on, and now his old Slippin buddy is gone.  It's hard to know what a complex character thinking if he's not telling someone.   :2c:
